A Girl’s Diary novel Chapter 40

Red.

That was all I could see!

Was I kidnapped? Again?

"We got her ma'am, don't worry." I heard a voice say before everything blackened.

I didn't know how long it took before I could regain my senses again. It started getting whiter and whiter.

What the hell was going on with me?!

Last thing I remembered was me and Tommy coming ba-

Wait! Where was Tommy?!

I tried to focus my vision, colours were coming back in a hazy blast. It was blurry but after blinking a few times, I started seeing things a little less hazy.

I was in a white room but my throbbing head was making it too much to identify where it was exactly.

I tried to get up but was met with a scream.

Who was screaming?

It took me a few moments to realise it was me! I was feeling excruciating pain all over my body.

What happened?!

"Elena honey, calm down," I heard my mom's voice. I opened my eyes a bit to see a figure I knew could only be my mom. I was safe!

"What... h-happened?" I managed to ask. My throat was burning as if someone poured acid in it.

"You don't remember?" She asked. I was about to say no but my throat protested sending waves of pain blocking me from speaking. My eyes teared a bit. "Just rest, for now, okay?"

"To..." I had to make sure he was okay.

"He's fine, don't worry." With that, I drifted peacefully to sleep again.

When I opened my eyes again, Tommy was lying right next to me. I was almost tempted to push him off the bed. If only my body didn't ache too much.

"I know that smirk," he said. How did he even know I was smirking?! "You broke your arm, idiot." Say what now? "So, yeah! You can't push me or anything aggressive you used to do." He shrugged sitting upright.

I tried responding but nothing came out but awkward sounds. "Yeah, you hurt too many things actually," he said sheepishly. "So, in order to compensate your silence, I'm going to talk for both of us." He gave me a full grin making me roll my eyes. As if he didn't talk enough already!

Wait! What about the coming concert?!

What day was it today?

"Also, about the coming concert, it's supposed to be in ten days so, Aurora postponed it a bit. Now you have twenty five days to get better." He was always good at reading my mind! "Are you now dying to know what happened?" I nodded eagerly... too eagerly to be honest earning another protest from my body. "Well, I'll tell you but first you have to take a shower. You smell awful!" He pinched his nose earning a glare from me.

Realization hit me.

How the hell was I supposed to do that?!

My eyes widened. "I know that look!" He chuckled. "There's a nurse here to help you." He shrugged. "I'll see you later!" He waved and got out.

Seconds later, a woman in her mid-thirties came in. I blushed deeply. I wasn't comfortable with any of this but I didn't protest.

Apparently, I had fractured my legs too; that was why I had cast on my legs and hand. And I also had too many cuts that needed medical attention.

Could life get any peachier?!

My nurse was friendly and efficient. She worked with concentration but also kept talking softly to me. She introduced herself and then kept talking about how she had a daughter that never seemed to listen to her. She had a smile on her face the whole time.

When she was done, she helped me to a wheelchair then she went out saying goodbye. Tommy came back seconds after.

"Missed me?" He winked making me roll my eyes but I smiled nevertheless! He started pushing the chair but then stopped. "Wait, let me take your lenses in case we decided to go out," he said. Smart kid! I forgot about that!

We went downstairs, I was starving but I had no idea how I was going to eat. "The doctor prescribed some juices for you to drink since you won't be able to eat and you got to have proper nutrition," He said as we rounded the corner to get to the kitchen.

Telepathy at its best!

"Elena!" I heard both my siblings scream. My head, you idiots! "You're okay, right?" Loca asked. I nodded making her let out a sigh of relief. I smiled at her.

"Who sleeps four days straight?" Ian rolled his eyes. I love you too, brother!

"If I know Twinkle as much as I think I do, she'd be saying that she loved you too Ian!" Tommy snorted.

Oookay, that was beginning to be freaky but also cool!

Tommy put the straw near my mouth holding the cup of juice for me to drink. I wanted to protest but starving was having a stronger effect now!

I took a sip, it burnt at first but after a few sips, it got better.

Tommy took a chair in front of me still holding the juice. "So, Sky has been dying to see you..." He trailed. I nodded. I wanted to see her too. His eyes lit up. "I'll take that as a yes, we can meet her when you finish this." He winked.

Why was he treating me like a kid?! Ugh!

I finished my juice but I was about to chop Tommy's head off! He kept making train sounds while giving me the straw! Like the heck!!!

"Let me put these weird shoes on for you." I rolled my eyes. "Do you want me to fix your hair?" Did it really matter how my hair looked with the number of bruises on my face?! "You know the messy hair with the bruises make you look like a homeless crazy lady." He snorted.

I was seconds from kicking him where it hurt!

He surprisingly knew how to put my hair in a neat ponytail. He showed it to me in a small mirror, my eyes roomed along my face. I looked bad! Angry red bruises filled my face.

"I know what you're thinking!" I wanted to snort, I had no doubt!! "They look like putting too much blusher, don't worry about it."

But how did any of this happen?

Why was I the only one suffering all that? We were in the car crash together. I mean I was relieved he wasn't hurt but it was weird!

"I'll tell you what happened on our way." I nodded slightly.

He took a few deep breaths before he started talking again. Pleading me not to freak out for millions of times.

"You were almost kidnapped again."

What?!

"Don't worry now, the police got them before they got away with you..." He paused. I nodded for him to go on. "Let me start from the beginning." He took another calming breath. "So, after our car crashed, three men got out of the car that hit us and took you. I tried to fight them but one of them drugged me so I fainted."

Just like the good old times!

Was this the right time to have a panic attack?! Probably not!

"Anyways, Louis was heading over to where we were heading to cause some drama about how him and Cinnamon should be friends since he was 'famous' now!" I could practically feel him rolling his eyes. "He saw what happened and called the police immediately and started chasing their car!" He stopped.

Louis did that?

"I can't believe it too! The guy is crazy as fuck!" He chuckled. "The police got them and you were taken into the hospital where you took playing the sleeping beauty too far."

The moment I could move again, I was hitting this guy!

"We're safe now!" He murmured softly before returning to his normal self. "As for the bruises, maybe because they hit the car from your side so you took most of the hit," He sighed. "I don't know really." He sounded exasperated. I wanted to hug him as his voice broke.

I weakly lifted my barely good hand and squeezed his.

"Now now, no need to be dramatic. That's Sky's job!" He snickered making me break a big grin. "You get to play the role of a queen. How awesome is that?"

Very!

If only I could talk and command them around!

Tommy kept pushing my chair until we arrived at a nearby garden. I spotted Sky sitting on a bench and I smiled at once.

"Elena!" Sky screamed as she ran towards me. "How dare you sleep like this and leave me?!" Huh? "Do you know how boring school was?"

"Tell her the good news," Tommy encouraged her.

Now, I was listening!

"You're the new head of the cheerleaders!" She screeched. Say what now! "They put the new list!"

What kind of cheerleader would I be looking like this?!

"You do know that it's for only two weeks right?" Tommy said. "They didn't fully break or anything." He smiled wheeling my chair in front of a bench before sitting down.

Just why was I feeling so much pain if it wasn't that bad?

"But you got hit so they hurt but it'll be gone before you know it." Yuppie! "And you'll be talking in a few days. So, don't be a drama queen, kay?" I nodded slightly.

"Eli, I have to tell you something," Sky said. I didn't like that tone one bit! "More like three things actually." I nodded. "This is not the best time to say this but you don't have a voice to scream at me or get mad so it's also an opportunity." My eyes widened. Was she serious? "I'm dating your brother!" I almost snorted. If only my throat didn't hurt too much.

"She already knew, Sky!" Tommy replied for me.

Sky blinked at me. "How?" She then shook her head. "You're not mad I kissed your brother?" I frowned. Why did she think I'd be mad? That was her life and if that made her happy then so will be it. Plus, Ian was so much better than Adam anyway!

She breathed a sigh of relief before dropping her next bomb! "I kinda kissed him again in your room while you're unconscious!"

If I didn't know any better, she'd be grinning widely right now!

But she was scared AF to drop the big bomb!

"And..." She trailed. Could she ever stop stalling? "Ron asked where you are so I told him we're here."
