A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married novel Chapter 174

It was time for dinner.

Hendrix said, "Didn't Maverick go to Italy? How about take the children here for diner? Mom has made something delicious."

Everly glanced at the dining room where the servants had probably already prepared dinner. Thinking that the trip was too time-consuming, she said, "Then I'll go back in an hour. I won't take the children with me. It takes too much time. Besides, there are more rumors outside so I'd better drive there myself."

"Take care of yourself," Hendrix didn't insist.

Everly ate a little with the two children, and after settling them down, she drove back to the Farley's.

By the time she arrived, the Farleys had almost finished eating.

Parrish said that he had something to tell Everly. It was obvious that it was a serious matter, for he called Everly into the study.

After closing the door of the study, Parrish spoke, "You should know the reason why I called you back."

Everly knew. On the way here, she had already thought of this. She said, "Dad, there are still a lot of gossips out there. I know that you are in a hurry and might think that this is unfair to Edmond, but five years have already passed like this. I was thinking that no matter what, I will make the decision after the matter is over."

"Back then, when you wanted to have a child, I did not agree. I was afraid that you would lose too much for it." Parrish was different from before. This time, he was really calm. "But you insisted. If your mother and I did not choose to compromise, do you think you could go abroad smoothly?"

Everly remained silent.

Parrish sighed, "As parents, how can we really make our children live a worse life? After you told me about Maverick, I thought about a lot. Have you thought about it? Edmond should return to the homeland. This is the traditional idea of us, and I also inquired about the situation of the Lamont family. Everly, I am really worried that you can't handle it. And our two families should officially sit down and talk about Edmond's future, right?"

"Dad, the child's business is his own concern, and Maverick and I have our own business to handle. I don't think there is any conflict. In fact, before I married him, I did not know about Edmond's biological father."

"Are you trying to tell me that the matter of the child is not enough to affect your relationship?"

"About that, I didn't married him because of the children."

Parrish nodded and said, "I know that you are very assertive and I know I can't change what you think. DNA test doesn't mean anything, but it is just a formality. Do you understand?"

"I'll talk to Maverick."

"It is necessary for you to understand the Lamont family." Parrish seemed to want to say something but hesitated. He pondered for a moment and said, "The Lamont family used to have a close relationship with the Kahl family, the Croke family, and the Rice family. They even destroyed the Waller family together. However, Maverick's mother was Kailey, the daughter of the Waller family. Do you know all these?"

'It seemed what Maverick has said to me was just the floating part of the iceberg.

From the looks of him, dad seems to know a lot?'

Everly asked, "Dad, how do you know this?"

Parrish's eyes flashed slightly. "The incident back then caused quite a stir in City C, which I know it's not strange."

"But as far as I know, there are very few people who still mentioned it now."
