Alpha's Blind Luna novel Chapter 32

I stood with my warriors at the edge of the territory at the northern border. Leo was next to me, as was Cory. All the warriors who weren’t on patrol now lined up at the northern edge. Ahead of us, the whole of the Golden Sun pack were gathered together. Only Bryan wasn’t dressed in armor. He had his cane but he looked serious. All of them had been conversing through the mind link for the past five or ten minutes. Some of my warriors were unnerved by them, shifting back and forth.

Finally, I saw a few nods and AJ, Jax, Morgan, and Hector took off. Bryan, Auri and Lucy walked over to us. I straightened and so did Leo and Cory. Auri was smiling brightly though.

“Good Afternoon, Alpha Ezekiel, Beta Leo, Gamma Cory.” Bryan nodded to each of us.

“Are we ready to get started?” I asked.

Bryan nodded. “We want to make sure no one escapes into your territory if they run.”

“So we are just cleaning up if anyone gets out of the camp after you guys clean up?”

“Basically. We have our pack spread out to encircle the camp in case anyone tries to escape any other way. Lucy will be managing the south and so just in case.” Bryan looked over at the line of my warriors. “Not a single one of this pack can be left alive. Do you understand? Do not underestimate them. They are what you would call…enhanced. They will not give you mercy and they can not be left to live. Is that understood?”

All of my warriors looked to me and I nodded. They agreed and I saw the nervousness turn to excitement.

'Ezekiel, none of them can be left alive. They all need to die. Killing them is a mercy at this point. Remember that.' Auri’s mind link came through.

My brow furrowed. “I understand. Don’t worry about us. We will take care of it.”

She smiled and turned, pulling her high ponytail tighter. Motioning to Lucy, she kissed her father and headed off with Auri. Bryan watched them go and grumbled.

“Make sure no one tries to move forward either. No one wants to see her in action. Trust me.” Bryan smirked and then gave me a quick salute before heading off back toward their tent.

I looked at Leo who had an eyebrow raised. We waited for a few minutes, on edge. Cory next to me stiffened and looked back into the territory. He gripped onto Leo’s arm.

“Rose has gone into labor.”

The both of us turned to him, our eyes wide.

“Shit. Of course it needed to be now!” Leo threw up his hands. “She always has the best fucking timing.”

“Go, Cory.” I ordered him.

Cory nodded and shifted, taking off in wolf form back into the pack. Some of the other guys caught the action but with Leo and I smirking, they settled down. We turned back to the forest ahead. Another ten minutes passed and I fidgeted.

“Fuck it.”

“Alpha, Bryan said to…”

“I know what he said but this is my pack they are protecting.”

I walked forward and headed into the forest, Leo at my heels. I caught a glimpse of Lucy in wolf form, pacing the area. Weaving around her slightly, I motioned Leo to stay put.

Leo raced in front of me, putting a hand on my chest. “You are our Alpha. We need you to stay with the pack. They were brought here to take care of this. If they needed us, they would have asked. Don’t, Zeke. Don’t be stupid.”

“Stay here, Leo. I’m the best warrior in our pack. I’m the Alpha. I’m just going to take a look. If there are any issues, I’ll mind link you.”

I crept up further. The pungent smell of blood hit my nostrils and I nearly threw up right there. I had fought, I had battled, but never in my life had I smelled this much blood. Faris was on edge, ready to take over at any time. Still though, I crept up further.

The clearing where they were camped was ablaze. Tents on fire and anything else that could burn, was burning. The smoke stung my eyes but I covered my nose with my hand. Bodies were strewn all over the ground. Some wolves, some human, but you could barely recognize them. The amount of slices and blood on them, it was nauseating. A growl resinated further into the camp and against Faris’ feelings, I moved forward into the camp.
