Lilac opened her eyes groggily because she heard Rye’s loud voice and looked around her. She was still trying to figure out where she was when she heard Hunter chuckled.
“From the look of it, you really have a good sleep. I don’t want to wake you up, but we really need to go and greet the other alphas.” Hunter still caressed her cheek lovingly, sometime, his eyes would drift to her flat stomach. He couldn’t wait to see their baby and watch their little one grew up.
But, he would take his time and enjoy his moment alone with Lilac.
“Have we arrived?” Lilac rubbed her sleepy eyes and this made Hunter chuckled even more, but from the sound of it, Rye seemed like he was about to cry.
The gamma had been complaining in his letters because he couldn’t attend the ceremony and had to stuck in this.pack. He really hated Hunter for that. He missed his big milestone! That was what he said in most of his
letter.
“Yes, almost two hours ago.”
“What?” Lilac widened her eyes in surprised, she turned her head, but Hunter instead kissed her lips. “Why didn’t
you wake me up?”
“I did.”
If caressing her cheeks and peppered her with light kissed could be called as his effort to wake her up, well, it
could be said he really was trying hard to wake her up.
But in the end, it was Rye’s impatient that finally stirred her awake.
“Oh, I am sorry,” Lilac said sheepishly.
“You don’t need to be sorry, love. Take your time, I will go out first.” Hunter needed to calm down his gamma.

“I will be out in a minute,” she said, hastily combed her hair with her fingers and checked her dress, while Hunter went out and saw Rye.
The gamma looked like he was on the verge of tears or maybe he was on the verge of breaking down.
“How dare you having a ceremony without me there? How can you do that to me? I thought we are something!” Rye let out his grievances.
“What do you mean with something?” Hunter narrowed his eyes. He didn’t remember that they were ‘something’
“I mean, I am your best friend! Your lovely gamma and we have been through so many things together, but you left me behind! How could you?!”
“I didn’t leave you behind, I left you in this pack,” Hunter said lightly. “Stop being dramatic. Tell me what happened here.”

Rye scoffed, he folded his arms in front of his chest sullenly. “I am not telling you.” He looked like a three years
old now.
“Should I use my alpha’s voice to you?” Hunter raised his brows, which made Rye flinched, he didn’t have any
other option, but to oblige.
Alpha’s voice was not something trivial, you couldn’t take it lightly. It happened once in the past and sure enough, Rye didn’t want Hunter to use it on him again.
It was like an absolute command, which made you felt nervous and fidgeting the whole time, as if you couldn’t think, but immediately did what you were being told. That was what you would feel when you heard the alpha’s voice, because it was an ultimate order from the alpha.
With no other option, Rye started to recall all the things that happened in the Golden Claw pack.
“You are right, alpha Ramon made a move.”
“I expected that much.”
There was something that Hunter had been planning ever since he made Aiden fell into his scheme and it seemed, everything went well according to his plan.

Not long after that, Lilac came out of the carriage, she looked at Rye sheepishly and the ga mma started with his spoiled act again, complaining about how he was not there during the ceremony.
Lilac apologized to him, but then she thought about something. “There is something that most of the people not yet heard. Do you want to know?”
“What is it?” Rye couldn’t hide his curious nature, as he leaned over and offered his ear, but Hunter pushed him
away, so he wouldn’t be too close with his mate.
“You can just say it. No one will hear you,” Hunter said nonchalantly.
Seeing how Hunter was like this, Lilac chuckled, but Rye pouted his lips. “I am pregnant. There is only a handful of people, who knew about this.”
“Really?!” Rye was shocked. He expected they would be pregnant after their mating, especially when the ceremony was held in hurry, but he didn’t expect this soon. “Did Darren already know about this?”
This was Rye’s main concern. If there was a handful people, he wondered whether the beta beat him in this
moment or not.
“No, not yet. Darren has not yet learned about this. Only the healer, your sister and you.” Lilac could see how Rye’s eyes lit up.
“I can brag about this!”
The three of them finally went into the pack house and met with the other alphas, but instead of Aiden, they met with alpha James, his father, because of the trial, he was stripped from his status and for the meantime, it was
him, who ruled this pack again.
“It is nice to see you again, Lilac,” alpha James said.
Lilac didn’t hold a grudge toward him, she only felt bad because alpha James couldn’t be firmed with his mate and his son, which led them to today. He used to let them do whatever they wanted and turned blind eyes for
what luna Jasmine’s action.
“It is great to see you too, alpha James,” Lilac replied.
Not long after that, the trial began and Aiden was taken out from the room, where he had been confined. This would get ugly before it got better.
