Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 38

His eyebrow jumped fiercely, and he let go of his hand subconsciously.

Like a drowning man floating on the water surface, Harriet gasped the air with her red eyes, coughing and unable to say a word because of her hurt throat.

Wesley regretted when he saw her being so painful, but what she said echoed in his ear, making him fail to calm down. "If you don't want to live, I can help you. I will destroy my things if they are tarnished. Just be obedient as before if you want to live."

What he wanted was the obedient Harriet, if she could not do it, he did not need her anymore.

Harriet clenched her fingers and made sound difficultly, hoarse and unpleasant, "Okay, it's so hard to live anyway. You can just take my life."

The arrogance of not caring about life or death on her face made Wesley unhappy. He retorted cruelly, "Don't threaten me. You can end your life as you want but what about your brother?"

Speaking of Colin, Harriet raised her head sharply with resentment in her eyes.

Fine, this man knew that Colin was her only weakness.

"Don't think you can keep your brother safe as you have saved enough money. If you are not obedient, I can always know how to destroy his life."

He put on his belt, "I don't want to see it again for the second time."

She felt that she could not escape from him in the rest of her life, but she was still unwilling to submit.

Why? She was ready to be please him for her whole life if there was no kidney donation or miscarriage. It was him who proposed to let her go. When people were free, and then needed to give the free life up again, it would be so harsh to accept it.

After some consideration, she slowly turned around, but her lips were pale and her tone revealed sadness. "The man who had dinner with me today is called Keith Miller, a new actor from the crew. I am not so generous to hook up a man. I don't know his background but you can investigate it as you have done this kind of things before."

Harriet's voice was hoarse. She felt her throat burning once she said a word, but she still had to prove that she did not do anything wrong. More importantly, she could not let herself suffer the pain in vain.

"What is the name of the man?"

"Keith Miller." Harriet said without changing her emotion, "He said he met you once at his grandfather's birthday party last year."

Wesley gradually relaxed his tight eyebrows. There was complexity in his eyes with obvious regret flashing away from his face.

Although Harriet didn't know exactly the background of Keith, she was saved by Keith's casual mention of their meeting. Keith must be someone as Wesley changed his reaction immediately.

"Why didn't you mention it before?"

"You meant I should say it in the restaurant? Do you think it is proper to tell Keith I am your lover or tell your fiancée I am faithful for you?"

The statement made Wesley speechless.

Harriet sneered at him in her heart, but still made a delicate and wronged look on the face, coughing from time to time which prompted tears out. She just showed her best acting skills.

Wesley's words made her understand that she couldn't escape from him, but his fiancée already knew her existence. She would definitely make trouble with her incessantly, so Harriet had to prepare for herself.

"I don't know it was such a coincidence that I ran into you when I had the dinner for the first time with the junior in the crew. You just believed what she said that I hooked up a handsome teenager boy with your money. I'm afraid and I won't know how I die in the future.

"She is just wayward."

Harriet laughed at herself and coughed, "If you attribute all her actions to waywardness, I really have nothing to say. She has messed up with different guys across the world but in the end I bear the blame instead."

Wesley narrowed his eyes fiercely. His guilt was no longer left by the arrogance of the woman in front of him. He became livid about her soon, "Get out."
