Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 71

After a while, Harriet said, “Mr. Smith, who is she?”

Then, the woman turned to look at Harriet and said politely, “Nice to meet you, I am Lisa.”

“Nice to meet you, I am Harriet. Are you friends?” Harriet replied and reached out her hands to shake with her politely.

Lisa looked at Wesley, and replied, “We are just more than friends. You are Wesley’s good friend, right? But he does not mention you before.”

Then, she turned to look at Wesley again, and said, “Wesley, you should bring her out before.”

Wesley looked at Harriet coldly, “Do you think I will make friends with a woman like her?”

Harriet stiffened and looked at the man in astonishment.

What did he mean by that? To humiliate her in front of others?

Lisa was also surprised and wanted to say something. But then, Wesley said, “Why are you dressed like that?”

Harriet burst into a enchanting smile, “Obviously, I came here on purpose to pick you up today and I am dressed up in this way just for you. Now that you’re done, let’s go to the destination.”

However, Wesley was not willing to hang out with her.

When he got into the car coldly, Harriet obediently followed him in.

“Wesley, but don’t drive too fast.” Lisa looked worried.

Harriet looked at Lisa and felt a little angry. Then, she straightened herself up and turned to look at Wesley.

Wesley was not in a good mood, so he didn’t respond to Lisa. He just stepped on the gas and went away.

On the way, Harriet asked slowly, “Mr. Smith, Lisa says that you are more than friends, so what do you have to do with each other?”

In fact, she did not want to ask more, but she minded very much the way Lisa addressed him.

“You are not entitled to know that much.”

Wesley’s answer made Harriet feel embarrassed. she gritted her teeth rather than spoke.

Well, these days Wesley’s gentle attitude almost gave her the illusion that their relationship were slowly improving, but now it seemed that she was wrong.

“You shouldn’t come out in such dress.” After a moment’s silence, Wesley suddenly spoke.

Harriet frowned, “I can’t promise that. Sometimes I have to dress like that because of the work.”

“Then you need to change the work.”

Harriet said with a sneer, “Change of job? Mr. Smith, it is my major. To be honest, I really don't know what I can do except acting. Do you want to keep me for a lifetime?”

Wesley replied without hesitation, “Sure, as long as you're compliant.”

Harriet laughed coldly, “Mr. Smith, I know that you have a lot of women if you are willing, but I am sorry that I am not willing to be yours for a lifetime.”

The car stopped suddenly.

“Harriet, you do not know how to make me happy, but it seems that you are good at making me angry.”

Wesley looked at Harriet angrily and seriously. But Harriet did not know what Wesley was thinking and she also did not want to know. She just kept smiling and said, “Thanks.”

“Is that your attitude of pursuing me?” Wesley frowned.

Harriet looked tired, “Wesley, haven’t you had enough fun yet ? I’ve been in the play with you for a week, and since you like being chased so much, you shouldn’t stay with me. You can go anywhere with someone to make you happy. Please leave me alone.”
