Marsh's phone suddenly rang. He took his phone out to see who was calling and immediately turned around to pick it up, “Mr. Davies, what's wrong?”

 

“Are you a fool? What have you done?” Conner yelled.

 

Conner waited in the car for a long time, feeling weird about not seeing Marsh call Maximilian. Therefore, he called Marsh to ask the reason.

 

Marsh finally realized that he had misunderstood Humphrey for the real young lord.

After scolding him, Marsh raised his right hand angrily and slapped Humphrey on his face.

When Marsh was scolding, Baron already held Humphrey. Marsh slapped him many times and beat him like a drowned mouse.

 

“Marsh, don't bully me. My father is Theodore! He will teach you a lesson if you keep on doing this!” Humphrey tried to fight back by mentioning who his father was.

 

“What the fuck is Theodore? If he dares to lie to me, I will beat him heavily as well. Do you think I can be deceived easily? The most intolerable thing for me is your pretending to be Mr. Lee.”

 

Everything Marsh did was to show Maximilian that it was Humphrey's fault to pretend to be him. And the truth was Marsh was really good at acting.

 

“He didn't deceive you. It was you who mistook the young lord for someone else. How can you beat him because of your mistake?” Laura yelled at Marsh.

 

Both Humphrey and Laura were involved in the same case. Hence, if Humphrey lost his face, so would Laura.

After yelling, Laura hinted Lucy and the others that they were on the same boat and had to stand for each other. Lucy and the others immediately knew what she meant. They rushed to Baron together and defended Humphrey.

“You are such a jerk! How can you hit him? When are you going to give is the refund? That's our money!"

She felt really weird. What was going on? How could Marsh be so respectful to Maximilian? He was nothing but a trash. Marsh, on the other hand, even looked down on Humphrey’s father.

 

Besides, it was Marsh who called Maximilian Mr. Lee. It seemed that he was coming for that Mr. Lee, but he mistook him for Humphrey.

 

What happened before flashed in Laura's mind like a fast-forward movie.

 

Laura became more confused after that and didn't know what was going on exactly.

 

“Mr. Lee, don't be mad. It is me who was unable to recognize you in the first place. I am so sorry for delaying you.”

 

Seeing Maximilian remain silent, Marsh was so desperate that he wanted to kneel down for him. However, he could only keep on bowing and begged for his mercy.
