Fated For Lycan's Luna (Chloe and Blake) novel Chapter 173

Blake

Standing in the middle of the astounded crowd and the heated gaze from Caleb, I lifted my head to see Chloe’s radiant look.

Looking at her standing so confident and authoritative among the people who once never regarded her, I felt proud and amazed at the same time.

Seeing her overcoming all the challenges all these years made me sigh in regret that I was not there to watch her grow day by day.

Even so, the fact that the outcome of this seemingly mundane fight was her home cooked meal made me feel excited. Five years of being without her, I have always longed to see her happy face when serving the food she proudly made.

Just the thought of it made the annoyance I felt towards Caleb become buried behind my head as I looked at him before stepping out of the sparring area, “I had a good fight… You are a strong opponent.”

I saw him grit his teeth in frustration but I couldn't care less. My eyes were drawn to Chloe once more as a faint smile flashed on my lips, “I shall claim the price soon, Alpha Chloe…”

“En…” Chloe looked straight into my eyes still with her stoic gaze but the hint of understanding was apparent.

While I wanted to taste the food she made, I knew more than anyone that she needed rest. Having to lead the pack in day time and relentlessly training during the night, this routine will not change anytime soon.

“I’ll have it once our plans go through positively… It should not be too late by then.” I declared loud enough for everyone to hear. In this way, the pack members will be reminded of the main focus at hand, their training to deal with Alpha Kain.

“Thank you for being mindful about it.” Chloe replied.

Just like that, the two of us acted as if nothing happened earlier that night. We did our roles without a hitch as days went by and the time set for the operations is about to approach.

“Blake, there’s news from Alpha Sabre on Alpha Kain’s side!” While I was in my room, Arthur came knocking on the door with a hasty tone.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Alpha Sabre sent a message saying that the first bait that Chloe and I developed has now reached ALpha Kain’s forces. Now we can actually commence our first operations!” Arthur explained excitedly.

His eyes were blazing in anticipation and curiosity about how things might turn out.

Upon furnishing the agreement with the Red Moon Pack, the Frost Fang pack sent Arthur along with a small team of warriors with medical knowledge to learn from Chloe and their pack’s poison techniques.

Their task was to help develop a potion that could be used to weaken the mental state of the target we selected - the Dark Wood pack.

They were a pack that is known to have joined Alpha Kain’s forces voluntarily. In order to please the Alpha Kain, they launched a wide scale attack in the southwest and wiped out all the resisting small packs around. This pack is a large pack that is double the size of Red moon and Frost Fang pack combined.

We chose this pack because our first goal was to bring a result to Alpha Kain and stabilize our position as his assassin group.

For the potion, Chloe and Arthur developed a drug that could make one addicted to it and will completely modify your body to show signs of long term consumption even if you only drank once.

We are trying to create a picture that the Dark Wood Pack has been conniving with the ‘Red Moon Pack’ all along and was desperate to do so because they wanted the drug which they are addicted to.

With Chloe’s deep knowledge of potion and medicine, the potion was complete within a week’s time and we were able to send our spies to the Dark Wood Territory and leave it there to do its own thing.

It was surprising that it reached Alpha Kain’s ears in less than a month. As such, they now wanted for us the ‘Frost Fang Pack’ to deal with it.

“Very well, let’s contact Chloe so that we can all prepare!” I stood up and immediately went to the meeting hall to gather my warriors.

“But…” Arthur hesitated but meeting my gaze he immediately informed, “Alpha Sabre wants you to know that there will be a group of elders that would want to join us in annihilating the pack… What shall we do?”

Hearing his words, I paused for a while and still advised him to contact Chloe for the matter. At one point, Chloe and I considered this possibility from happening, however, as leaders of the pack, we should still review the plan with our pack member’s survival in mind.

Understanding my intentions, Arthur immediately went to Chloe’s territory to inform her directly.

In order for the picture to become perfect we have to create a believable scene for the elders to be fully convinced while in the shadows we were actually in the move to slowly annihilate their forces.

The response from Chloe’s side was quick and we were able to come up with an agreeable plan without any more mishaps.

A week after, wearing the full face silver mask I wore to conceal my identity, I stood with the Frost Fang Pack, Idris and Arthur while sweeping a glance over the territory of the Dark Wood Pack far ahead.

“Men, we shall approach the pack with full vigilance and carefulness. This pack is large, but we are to target the Alpha first once the evidence is confirmed.” Knowing that the elders were behind us scrutinizing gazes, I reminded my men and signaled them to get ready.

Behind the mask however, there is one direction my eyes would go into. Far from the end of the territory of the Dark Wood Pack, I could sense Chloe and the rest of the pack waiting for our signal for a great play that we were about to perform!
