Her Life Starts to Spin out of Control novel Chapter 117

Selina smiled and kissed Kerr's cheeks. Sven whistled, "Oh, my son has just been kissed by Levi!"

What? What did he mean?

Everyone started to laugh at Sven's joke. Realization dawned on Selina, and her face flushed red.

Apparently, they spotted Levi kissing her goodbye at the airport. Since she kissed Kerr after Levi kissed her, it made sense to say Levi kissed Kerr through her lips...

Amidst the cheerful and boisterous laughter, Selina was swarmed by a lot of questions...

Every question was about her and Levi.

"No, no! You're mistaken! There's nothing going on between me and Levi!" Selina carried Kerr in her arms and secluded herself into an empty seat, refusing to answer any question about Levi.

After the plane landed, Selina turned on her cellphone. Within a minute, she received a message that read, "Arrived?"

The sender's number was unfamiliar, but her instincts told her it was Levi.

Selina hesitated to send back a message, but finally replied, "Yes, thank you."

She didn't get another response from the number...

At the Li Manor.

After packing her things, Sophia went to Sha City with Colin. Her grandmother lived in a village in the city. Sophia hadn't seen her for a long time. During major holidays in the past, Sophia paid her grandmother a visit every year. But after what happened to her family, she wasn't able to visit for two years.

Since her grandmother lost her eyesight, she had to stay with Sophia's uncle. Sophia felt bad not visiting her in the past two years.

Sophia wondered how her grandmother was doing, and if her uncle's wife treated her well. After all, her aunt didn't like her mother-in-law. She didn't have a good relationship with Sophia's grandmother. Sophia could only hope things were doing well...

After a three-hour drive, they arrived at the Springside Village in Lakewater Town, Sha City.

Their arrival garnered a lot of attention. When they appeared at the entrance of the village, many old people and children playing outside began to stare at Colin's eye-catching luxury car.

The villagers murmured to each other, exchanging ideas about the identities of these visitors as they marveled at the expensive car.

As Colin slowly drove into the village, some children ran after the car. Sophia let out a nostalgic sigh at the scene. When she was young, she was raised in her grandmother's house. Back then, she was exactly like these kids.

After a few minutes, Sophia told Colin to pull over when they reached a narrow intersection.

After they parked the car along the road, all the residents swarmed out in excitement.

Sophia averted her eyes when she got off the car. She felt embarrassed under the admiring gaze of the villagers, it made her feel like she was showing off her newly-gained wealth. After taking out the gifts from the trunk of the car, she moved to lead Colin to her uncle's house.

Suddenly, a familiar voice stopped her. "Sophia Lo! You're Sophia Lo! Oh my god! Look, mother, that's Sophia!"

Sophia pondered for a while. If she wasn't mistaken, it was her middle school classmate, Beata Li, a girl who always bullied her in school.

Sophia turned around, and saw a woman in heavy make-up and a red down jacket. The familiar voice indeed belonged to Beata.

She hadn't seen the girl for seven or eight years. Since they were in public, Sophia flashed Beata a smile.

Beata covered her mouth in shock. She quickly squeezed her mother's hand. "Mom... Oh my god. That beautiful woman really is Sophia Lo!"

"Sophia? That man with her must be her husband. He looks so handsome! Our village doesn't have such handsome boys!"

"Of course not. I remember Sophia was so chubby when she was young. How did she become so slender and attractive?"

"Oh, someone from the Lo Clan has come back at last!"

Sophia kept quiet.

Colin waited until she turned back to him. "Friend of yours?"

Sophia shook her head. Rather than a childhood friend, Beata was more like a bully to her. She could still remember Beata picking on her in the past.

At that moment, an old lady walked up to them. "Sophie, are you here to visit your grandmother? You must hurry!"

Sophia recognized her as the old lady who lived next to her grandmother's house. Sophia greeted, "Granny Wang."

Granny Wang was a few years younger than Sophia's grandmother. She was happy when she heard Sophia's greeting. "Sophie, you haven't come back for quite a long time!"

Sophia took a box of gifts and handed it to Granny Wang. When she was a child, Mrs. Wang often made delicious food for her.

Colin followed Sophia's greeting and said, "Granny Wang."

It was the first time for Granny Wang to see such an elegant man, let alone be called "granny" by the same man. She grinned and asked, "Sophie, is he your husband?"

Sophia nodded and gave the gift to Mrs. Wang. "Granny, please take this small gift."

Mrs. Wang refused and pushed the gift back. In an urgent tone, she said, "Sophie, I don't need this. Hurry and go and see your granny!"

Mrs. Wang let out a deep sigh.

Sophia's smile froze. It sounded like something bad had happened to her grandmother...

She quickly pushed the gift into Mrs. Wang's hands and dragged Colin into a small alley.

They walked down the alley to the innermost courtyard. At the end, they reached a two-door entrance, one of which was broken and leaning against the wall behind it.

Trembling, Sophia held Colin's hand tightly and pushed the door open.

In her memory, her grandmother's courtyard was filled with vegetable patches and towering trees. But right now, there was nothing but a wasteland within the walls.

A rusty iron basin and a broken semi-automatic washing machine had fallen in the yard, deteriorating from exposure to the wind and sun.

Beside them was the coop that used to house chickens, but it was now covered with moss...

Sophia suddenly lost the courage to go further inside.

Colin pulled her into his arms and kissed her the top of her head. "Sophie, what's wrong?"

He didn't know what the place used to be like, but it now looked like a junkyard... It was so dilapidated, that no one would believe someone was living here.

"Colin... Why does it look like this?" Sophia sobbed.

Thinking of her grandmother, she took a step forward and quickened her pace to go inside.

The four dilapidated tiled rooms were a more tragic sight. Sophia's heart ached so much, she had a hard time breathing.

None of the doors were locked, and the open door led to her grandmother's room.

She suddenly turned to Colin. "Wait here!"

Sophia was afraid that it would be worse inside. And Colin would be put off by the scene.

Colin frowned and took her hand, pulling her through the open door.

The room was empty. A bout of coughs could be heard from deep inside the room.

"Granny!" Sophia shook off Colin's hand, and rushed inside.

The small room was filled with a moldy smell. A skinny old woman was coughing on the bed, with a hand clutching her heart.

Beside her were dirty bowls, a half-eaten dried bun, and a drinking cup covered with stains.

Sophia burst into tears at the sight. "Granny!" She rushed towards the bed, kneeling down in front of the old woman.

Thinking she was hallucinating, her grandmother kept her eyes closed.
