Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9 Acting with Mr. Limbaugh

Charleston squinted his eyes. "There are a lot more expressive models in Haverland," he stated.

The assistant director's smile froze.

Margaret couldn't help but take a step forward and refuted, "Mr. Limbaugh, are you trying to replace me? Why?"

"Because..." The man walked up to Margaret gracefully and answered in a low voice, "I wasn't impressed by your performance."

"What the f*ck!" Margaret thought to herself.

Seeing the man gloat with mockery in his eyes, Margaret knew that he was just avenging his personal grudge.

Margaret tried her best to squeeze out a stiff smile. "Mr. Limbaugh, maybe you haven't seen my performance in person, so you aren't able to feel my charm," she said.

"Do you want to perform again?" Charleston raised his eyebrows.

Margaret was quick to see the sarcasm behind the man's orbs.

She immediately understood that this man deliberately wanted her to look like a fool.

In an instant, anger rose in Margaret, which triggered the stubborn side of her. She grabbed the script and quickly flipped to a page. "Let's try with this part, then. Mr. Limbaugh, are you game?" she fronted him.

"Sure." The man agreed.

Only then did Margaret lower her head to read the script. It was a scene where Tiana was trying to seduce a rich man.

Margaret knew that no matter what she did, this man would make her a laughing stock in front of everyone.

However, she had to get this role. She needed the money!

In the advertisement, Tiana's rainbow azure necklace represented the hearts of seven men. This particular scene for the audition saw Tiana in enchanting traditional clothes attempting to seduce a man who was already attracted by Queenie Lycons, the main character of the movie.

"Let's begin," Charleston said as he sat on the chair.

Margaret took a deep breath.

When Margaret was three steps away from Charleston, her facial expression changed. She immediately got into character.

She was now Tiana.
