Invincible Heir novel Chapter 81

Lara was crying in Sarah’s arms. Finally, she stopped. “Sarah, I miss my mom and dad. Can you call them and tell them to bring me out of here?” She said, with tears in her eyes.

Sarah did not know how to answer that. She got no hint of Hudson’s intentions. She only knew that Hudson wouldn’t let Lara go easily.

“I will do whatever you want me to do, Hudson. But there is a condition. Let Lara go home!” Sarah said, biting her lips.

“You want to strike a bargain with me? Is that a threat, Sarah? Come on. Don’t be naive. Because, frankly, I don’t care if you live or die. I warn you, Sarah. If you say anything more, I will kill the little girl,” said Hudson, still smiling.

Sarah had no choice but to compromise. She knelt and put a hand on Lara’s shoulder. “Lara, I’m tired, so I will go to sleep in the bedroom. I’ll play with you later. Okay?” she said softly.

“Sarah, I’m scared. I want to go with you.” Lara’s eyes filled with tears again.

“That’s not okay, Lara. You have to wait here for your mom and dad,” Sarah said coaxingly.

“Really? Will they come for me?” Lara shouted with delight.

“Of course. You mean a lot to them. So, wait here. OK?” Sarah tried to soothe the poor girl.

“OK!” Said Lara happily.

Sarah smiled at Lara and followed Hudson into a bedroom.

As soon as they walked into the bedroom, Hudson put his arms around Sarah, but Sarah pushed him away.

“What do you mean?!” said Hudson sternly.

Sarah stared hard at Hudson and tears began to come to her eyes. “Do you remember it? You said you were confident enough to make me fall in love with you. You failed, Hudson! I never, never will love someone like you!”

“I don’t care! You are nothing to me. I admit that you are very pretty, but I just want to have sex with you! You can’t get out of it tonight. Remember the little girl’s life depends on you!” said Hudson savagely.

Just then, they heard a sudden, hurried knock at the door.

“You wicked little girl! You’ll get yourself killed.” Hudson said and walked towards the door, looking very grumpy.

“Please, Hudson! Forgive Lara! Please don’t hurt her. I’ll do anything!” Sarah tried to stop him.

Hudson shoved her aside and opened the door.

A familiar figure appeared in front of him. It was not Lara but Charles!

Without a word, Charles kicked him in the chest. Hudson went flying and hit a table with a dull thud. Following the crash, all the wines smashed on the ground with broken pieces everywhere.

“How did you find me here? That’s impossible!” Hudson said in a terrified voice.

He felt a sharp pain in his chest. Not only that, a wave of panic came over him. He knew that once Lara was rescued, He would die!

Charles walked toward Hudson, step by step. When he reached, he stepped on Hudson’s chest with tremendous force. “You’re a dead man when you took away his daughter.”

“You can’t kill me. The Brown family will come after you, you know that,” Hudson said in fear, shaking from head to foot.

He had seen Charles blind his men cruelly at the Moonshine Pub. He couldn’t get the scene out of his mind.

At that moment, a cold voice came suddenly from the parlor. “Knock him out and take him away!”

“Yes! Mr. Owen!” Charles replied and kicked Hudson again, which made Hudson pass out. Then he heaved Hudson on his shoulder easily.

Sarah was shocked to see what happened. After all, Hudson was at least 170 pounds. While she recovered from her surprise, Charles had jumped from the window and melted into the darkness.

“Dad, Sarah is still in there. She is my new friend. I should say goodbye to her.” Lara said sweetly and wrapped her arms around Baron’s neck.

In fact, Baron had heard Hudson and Sarah’s conversation. He appreciated her help, so he took Lara to the bedroom.

“Sarah, you are right. Dad really came here. I have to go now,” Lara said happily.

When Baron saw Sarah’s face clearly, he was slightly shocked. She was beautiful and young, with a white shirt and a pair of old jeans.

“Thank you for protecting my daughter!” Baron said sincerely. The woman sacrificed herself for Lara. Baron was definitely appreciative of that.

Sarah shook her head and said, “Oh, no reason to thank me. Instead, I should say sorry to Lara. Sorry for getting her in this mess. She is adorable and I like her very much.”

“But thank you, anyway,” Baron said and handed her his business card. “I’m Baron Owen. My number is on there. If you need help, give me a call.”

Sarah took the card and looked at it carefully. There was nothing but a phone number on it. She put it in her pocket. “I’m Sarah, nice to meet you!”

“From this day forward, you are free! Hudson won’t trouble you again.” Baron said and left, with his daughter in his arms.

They drove to the Perry Manor. Lara was very happy on the way and talked a lot about Sarah. Baron was so relieved that Lara was all right.

When they got home, Tracy just got back from work. She knew nothing about what had happened to Lara. “Where have you been? It’s pretty late,” she complained.

“Sorry, Tracy. I will be earlier next time,” Baron smiled.

“Mom, don’t blame Dad. I played with Sarah tonight. She is very nice and I like her,” interposed Lara quickly. She did not notice that Tracy was watching them sulkily. She continued, “Dad, could you take me to see Sarah tomorrow?”

Tracy glared at Baron angrily without another word. Baron looked at her with a bitter smile. He knew Tracy must be mistaken about Lara’s words.

The family knew nothing about Lara’s being kidnapped, except Baron and Yuri. Baron didn’t want to upset Tracy, so, he had to keep it a secret.

But just then, Sherry rushed out, “You’re a jerk! Tracy is so nice to you, but you cheat on her!” Sherry’s words were like pouring gasoline on a fire. She wouldn’t miss any chance to get them divorced.

“Mom, stop! Don’t make things up!” Yuri said hurriedly. She was very clear about what had happened. But she couldn’t tell the truth without Baron’s permission.

“Tracy, don’t listen to Mom. You completely misunderstood Baron. We all didn’t have time to bring Lara home, so Baron asked his friend to take care of Lara,” Yuri said soothingly.

“What nonsense! If you three didn’t have time, he could send Lara home. It is quite obvious that he was lying. He must have hooked up with that woman. Tracy, he wanted to divorce you! He planned this whole thing from the beginning!” Sherry said sharply.

The words made Tracy even angrier. She fixed her eye on Baron. “Just give me an explanation, Baron.”

“Tracy, don’t take this the wrong way. I did not betray you. Everything Yuri said was true.” Baron had no choice but to lie to her.

Tracy believed not a word of that. She sneered without a word and took Lara to her bedroom.

“Baron, why don’t you explain to Tracy?” Yuri urged.

Baron looked away from Tracy and shook his head. “Now is not the time. I have to finish something. While everything is fine, I’ll explain to her.” He said and left.

Charles was waiting for him outside. And Hudson was still in his car. He needed to tackle the problem.
