Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 186

Chapter 186 Why‘s Your Throat Hoarse if You Didn‘t Miss Me

Clarissa‘s head was buzzing. In the end, she threw herself into Theresa‘s arms and burst into tears.

“Don‘t cry, Clary. Nothing‘s changed between us, okay?” Theresa said.

Clarissa recalled the things that had happened over the years. As a child, Luke used to bully her all the time. Theresa would buy her candy and chase after Luke with a broom. During elementary school, Theresa would handwash her clothes, while Luke, who was in high school, would have to wash his clothes on his own. This made Luke hate Clarissa even more. Every time Clarissa got good results, she would be praised endlessly. Luke, on the other hand, would be suspected of cheating when he occasionally did well for an exam

Luke‘s failed life was largely related to being compared to Clarissa all the time.

Clarissa was the one who had snatched Luke‘s parents away from him. Suddenly, she felt extremely sorry for him.

“Mom, I‘m going to bed,” Clarissa said to Theresa. She went back to her room.

She didn‘t turn on the lights. Instead, she curled up in bed and allowed her tears to flow freely.

Before this, she had always thought that she would have a home as long as her mother was around. No matter how poor she was, she had to cure her mother‘s illness.

Now, though Clarissa didn‘t regret everything she had done for Theresa, it still didn‘t change the fact that they weren‘t related by blood. How wonderful it would be if Theresa was Clarissa‘s biological mother!

How could God be so unfair?

Clarissa heard someone knock on the door from outside. Theresa opened it.

“Damien, you‘re here?” Theresa said.

“Yeah. Where is she?”

“She‘s gone back to her room to sleep.”

“This early?”

Theresa didn‘t say anything. She just let out a sigh.

Clarissa‘s room door wasn‘t locked, and Damien came in.

The light from the living room made it possible for her to see him.

As he took his coat off, he put his hand on the light switch.

“Don‘t turn on the lights,” she said hoarsely.

Damien stilled. He closed the door, blocking the light from outside,

Clarissa could hear him taking his clothes off, washing up in the bathroom, and getting into bed.

She was almost asleep when he wrapped his arm around her waist.

“Don‘t you miss me?” He pressed his lips to her forehead and spoke to her in a low voice.

“No.” Her throat was completely hoarse.

“Why‘s your voice hoarse if you didn‘t miss me?”
