His feeling for her was opaque from beginning to the end. 

In this unrequited love, she was too exhausted to expect for anything else.

He said it in a half-joking way. Isabella could tell he was just trying to adjust the atmosphere, so she also calmed down and smiled: "Luke, don't make fun of me. With your conditions, you can have whichever girlfriend you want."

Luke also said: "You too as well. Try consider other men."

He really didn't know what would happen if he left her for more than one day.
