Mr. Williams Wants His Ex-Wife Back novel Chapter 148

When Rebecca finished wiping Adams's face and continued to wipe his hands, Adam suddenly took her hand and muttered something.

Rebecca frowned and looked at him.

His eyes were closed, and he was still asleep soundly.

He was talking in his sleep.

He must have dreamed of Linda.

Rebecca smiled, took her hand out of his, and continued to wipe his hands.

After wiping his hands clean, Rebecca pulled the quilt and tucked him in. Then, she took a towel and went back to the bathroom.

"Rebecca, don't go. Don't go to Paris. Stay..."

The moment Rebecca walked into the bathroom and closed the door, Adam slowly opened his eyes and looked in the direction of the bathroom. Under the dim yellow light, tears flowed down the corner of his eyes.

...

Rebecca washed her hair, took a shower, and dried her hair before coming out of the bathroom. It was already one o'clock in the morning.

She went to the cloakroom to get her pillow and blanket. Just as she was about to go to bed with the lights off, her phone kept vibrating.

She walked over and saw that it was Linda calling.

Linda called her at midnight. Rebecca wouldn't think that Linda was looking for her.

She looked at Adam on the bed, and his phone was on the bedside table.

Rebecca Smith walked over and picked it up. It was powered off.

"Hello." Rebecca knew that if she didn't answer, Linda would keep calling.

In order not to cause unnecessary misunderstanding, Rebecca answered the phone.

"Where's Adam? Where is he? Rebecca, did you turn off his phone so that I couldn't find him?" Linda's angry roar came from the phone, sharp and piercing.

Rebecca furrowed slightly and glanced at Adam. She replied, "He's drunk and asleep. You can call him tomorrow."

"Rebecca, you put Adam on the phone, now!"

After that, Rebecca hung up the phone, ignoring Linda's growling, and turning off the phone.

She then turned off the only triangular floor lamp in the room. The faint light shone from the window. She walked to the sofa, lay down, and slept.

Just as she lay down, Adam on the bed slowly opened his eyes again.

He looked fixedly at her with affection in the darkness.

Adam was no longer sleepy. He looked at Rebecca, who curled up on the sofa with her back to him.

...

"Morning."

The next day, when Rebecca woke up, she saw Adam sitting next to her.

He had been up for a while. He took a shower and changed the clothes that he wore last night.

Rebecca looked at him with a smile, saying "Morning" politely, and then got up.

"By the way, Miss Green looked for you last night." Rebecca sat up and held the blanket. She told Adam about that when she thought of what happened last night.

Adam's eyes fixed on her, and he didn't want to mention Linda at all. Instead, he asked, "You sleep so soundly. Is it so comfortable to sleep on the sofa?"

Rebecca rolled her eyes at him and ignored him. When she saw the gifts on the small round table beside her, she stood up and handed them to Adam." These gifts were from your grandfather, your uncle, and your aunt. Give them back to your mother."

Adam sat there, raised his head, and looked at her with a frown. He didn't reach out to take the gifts.

"Your mother doesn't like me. You know that. Return these to her. At least she won't overthink about it." Adam didn't react, so Rebecca explained.

She had never opened the gifts, and she didn't care what things were inside them.

"Give them to her yourself. I won't do that." Adam was angry abruptly. After saying that to Rebecca, he got up and strode out.

Rebecca looked at Adam's back speechlessly.
