Mr. Williams Wants His Ex-Wife Back novel Chapter 196

Adam looked at Rebecca. Suddenly, he lowered his head and smiled with mixed feelings.

"Yes, the Scott family has long been in decline, and it is impossible to compete with the current HY Group."

"Mr. Scott and I are just working partners. Don't worry. He won't do anything to me." Rebecca believed in Carlos and didn't want Adam to think much more.

"Then..."

"Okay, I promise you." Rebecca agreed readily, but when she looked at Adam, she suddenly changed her mind and said, "Can you promise me something too?"

"What?" Adam looked at her with anticipation and fear.

"When I get my master's degree from the Paris Institute of Higher Education and return home, we'll get the divorce done."

Looking at Rebecca, Adam frowned and his breathing almost stopped.

"Since you don't agree, forget it. I can't grant you that." As he spoke, Adam got up and was about to leave.

Rebecca looked at his lonely back and suddenly felt sorry for him. She then said, "Okay, I promise you. What night are we having dinner with him? Tomorrow or the day after?"

Adam was overjoyed and stopped. He turned around and looked at Rebecca.

Rebecca looked at him and saw the light that suddenly flashed in his eyes. She smiled slightly.

"I'm not sure yet. When I have decided, I'll tell you."

"Okay."

After Adam left, Rebecca sat alone in the room. She had mixed feelings.

Linda was so stupid that she pushed Adam further and further away. Rebecca firmly believed this.

However, Rebecca knew in her heart that Adam would not easily go back on his word.

Whether it was out of true love or resistance to Arthur, since he had made such an oath to make her leave, he would not go back on it easily.

In many ways, Adam was actually a good man, but he didn't belong to her.

After some time, the doorbell rang again. This time, Rebecca looked through the peephole.

Bill was standing outside the door.

Hurriedly, Rebecca opened the door.

"Hello, Mr. Lee!"

"Miss Smith, you haven't eaten yet, have you?!" Bill smiled and handed the packed food to Rebecca. "The boss went to a Chinese restaurant. Seeing that the food was good, he packed a few for you. Try it while it's hot."

Rebecca looked at the large stack of lunch boxes in Bill's hand and couldn't help but smile. "No, Mr. Lee, actually I..."

"Hey, I've brought it to your door. It's a waste to throw it away, right? Just eat some." Seeing Rebecca refuse, before she could finish her sentence, Bill said with a smile.

Rebecca lowered her head and smiled. Since Bill had already said that, it would be impolite if she did not eat any.

So, she nodded, reached out to take it, and smiled, "Well, I'm not full. Thank you both."

"You're welcome." Bill smiled. "You have my WhatsApp. If you need anything, you can contact me directly."

Rebecca nodded again. "Okay, I see. Thank you."

"Then rest early after dinner. I'm leaving."

"Okay." Rebecca nodded again and watched Bill leave.

It was not until Bill disappeared around the corner that she looked back and closed the door.
