My Marriage to a Mute Girl novel Chapter 5

Her palm was slightly moist, still a little nervous.

Hesitating for a moment, she pushed the door open.

The room was dark and she used her phone to shine a light on it as she walked to her desk, finally her eyes fell on the drawer underneath it and she opened it to see a file packet marked real estate red, which was indeed placed inside.

She picked up the file, a little confused in her mind as to why such an important document was unlocked.

Soon, Lexie realized what was going on, her face changed slightly, and she was just about to leave.

The lights were suddenly turned on.

"Are you looking for this?"

With the man's indifferent and icy voice ringing out, the things in Lexie's hand were dropped to the ground in shock.

At the moment, Alan was carrying a copy of the same file bag in her hand, and the file bag that she had dropped on the floor fell open.

And it was empty?

Lexie was shocked!

Alan's pair of deep eyes were calm and dark, but they were more like the sea before a storm, hiding an unseen raging: "Peter told you to come and get it, right?"

Lexie couldn't help but breathe a little sharper.

So he knew the truth and had been waiting in the study to catch her?

Realizing this, coldness instantly crawled up Lexie's back!

He suddenly came towards her, and Lexie's pupils contracted.

Every step the man took seemed to step on her heart.

Finally, he stopped in front of her and looked down at her tight face, not knowing whether to mock or actually compliment her, "You're bolder than I thought."

Lexie smiled bitterly in her heart.

She wasn't bold, but there was no other way.

She did not try desperately to explain for herself in front of this intelligent man; the more she explained, it was the equivalent of a cover-up, and the only thing she could do was to be silent.

Alan's voice suddenly turned very sharp: "As my nominal wife, you stole my the Howard family's business secrets, I'm calling the police now, and you'll spend the rest of your life in jail."

He pulled out his phone and was ready to call the police.

Lexie jerked her head up, the composure on her face unable to maintain any longer.

However, the man remained cold: "Now you know you're afraid?"

Lexie pursed her lips and her face went pale.

If she goes to jail, what will Grandma do afterwards?

Alan snickered when he saw her in such a mess, "Want me to let you off the hook?"

Lexie's eyes snapped up, would he really be so kind?

Sure enough, the man laughed, but his voice mocking: ''You are very obedient to Peter, you do whatever you are told to do, don't you know that doing this is against the law? Since you are so obedient, then fine, take off your clothes to please me now! Maybe I can let you go once I'm happy."

Lexie was stunned.

In front of the powerful man, she was as humble and weak as an ant.

She closed her eyes and opened them again, and with trembling hands, she slowly began to undress herself.

Alan was a little surprised.

He deliberately taunted her in this way, not expecting her to actually do what he said.

Good, he'd like to see how far she could go for that!

Jacket ......

Shirt ......

It was just about to be the turn of the underwear.

Perhaps God was helping her, as Alan's phone suddenly rang.

"Mr. Alan, things have been arranged, and Peter has taken the bait." It was Jack who called.

Alan nodded, after hanging up the phone, he raised his eyes to look at Lexie who was standing there. She was trembling, within the red eyes, hiding vulnerability and sadness that refused to be easily revealed.

He suddenly lost the desire to continue and waved his hand, "Alright, a bitter face is appalling, get out."

The man's sudden change of tone caused Lexie to freeze in place, her hand still maintaining the motion of unbuttoning.

Alan impatiently prodded, "Still not going?"

Lexie snapped to attention.

He was for real letting her go.

Not daring to stay a moment longer, she hurriedly got up and left.

After returning to the room, Lexie had been apprehensive, deeply afraid of Alan suddenly changed his mind, trembling until twelve o'clock at night. She did not feel relieve till the man really had not come back in midnight.
