The Contract Lover (Nina Morrison and Lucien Gray) novel Chapter 107

“I’m fine. Run!” Lucien takes Nina by the hand and runs like hell.

There seems to be a group of people catching up. The bullets flow over their heads after a few shots. Nina’s heart pounds.

When they run into a small alley, suddenly a group of people approach them.

“Mr. Gray, put the gun down!” Suddenly two cold guns appear behind Lucien and Nina’s heads.

It’s a terrible feeling to be shot twice a day in the head.

Lucien’s hand around Nina’s shoulder suddenly tightens.

Lucien says coldly, “I’ll stay. Let this woman go!” He turns his eyes and looks for the best chance to escape.

The man in black behind laughs, “why should I listen to you?”

Lucien’s voice is hoarse. “If you touch one of her hair, none of you will live!”

“What if I touch it?” The man reaches out a big, fluffy hand and gives Nina a a hard squeeze on the face.

Nina lets out a low cry of pain.

Lucien’s cold eyes suddenly become bloodthirsty!

He wrenches his body to an incredible angle and lifts his leg to kick off the gun behind Nina. He elbows the man in black behind him.

Two men in black whistle and more people rush around. Their fists rain down on Lucien. All their strength is used on Lucien.

Lucien dodges the fists and tells Nina to run away.

Lucien is beaten to the ground and rolls around. Nina has never seen him so humiliated.

Nina can’t stand it.

“Enough!” She rushes to the group who are beating Lucien.

“Stop fighting! I just called the police! The police will be here in a minute!”

A man claps in the black Bugatti beside them.

Nina turns around and sees a man in the back seat.

The man whistles and all the men in black stop. They bows and calls him, “Mr. Gray.”

Mr. Gray? Before Nina can respond, she hears Lucien’s low voice, “Dad.”

Dad? Nina is shocked!

Lucien’s father was in the car and saw his son being beaten like this by his men?

Or are these people in black sent by him?

How can there be such a father in the world?

Nina is furious at Lucien’s swollen face. She rushes to the car and shouts, “are you Lucien’s dad? How can you do that? Are you crazy! Will a father do this to his son?”

The man in the car doesn’t speak.

Nina’s head pops up with a pistol.

“Stop!” Lucien yells behind Nina, “if you hurt her, I’ll kill you all!”

“OK. Let’s go!” Suddenly the man in the car says. He lets them go.

The car leaves. All of a sudden, Nina and Lucien are left in the street as if the fierce gun battle has never happened before.

“Nina!” Lucien calls Nina.

Nina looks back and sees Lucien lying on the ground. His face is swollen and there is blood on the corner of his mouth. His hair and clothes are in a mess. There is anger in his eyes and he shouts, “Why did you meddle! Do you know it was dangerous!”

“You!” Nina is about to say that he is ungrateful when Lucien’s eyes close.

Nina runs quickly to see Lucien is in a coma.

St. Louis hospital.

Nina walks restlessly around in front of the emergency room. Her hands pinch her clothes unconsciously.

It is a breathtaking day.

She always thinks Lucien is a spoiled young man so he is grumpy and cruel.

She didn’t expect him to have such a father. For no reason, he ordered his men to beat him up and put a gun on his son’s head.

Nina thinks she’s met a crazy family.

“Miss Morrison! Miss Morrison!” Paul, the housekeeper, arrives in a hurry with a group of servants.

Nina just called Paul on Lucien’s cell phone. She doesn’t dare to tell Grandpa Gray because she is afraid that he will get angry and get sick.

“Miss Morrison, how about young master?”

“I don’t know. He is in the process of rescue.” Nina glances at the closed door of the emergency room.

Nina has an unspeakable tension.

She knows that Lucien’s beating has something to do with her. If it wasn’t for protecting her, he wouldn’t have been beaten so badly.

When he was beaten, he still thought about her and asked her to run away. The worries and heartaches in his eyes are real and can not be pretended at all.

Nina’s heart pounds.

Does Lucien really like her?

The emergency room lights out. The doctor comes out and speaks a lot at a very fast rate. Nina is confused. She looks at Paul.

“One of his ribs is broken. Nothing else.” Paul breathes a sigh of relief and says to Nina.

Lucien is soon pushed out. He has an oxygen tube in his nose and his eyes are closed. The blood on the corner of his lips has been wiped off by the doctor.
