The Contract Lover (Nina Morrison and Lucien Gray) novel Chapter 173

Raymond notices Nina is in a bit of a dilemma, and there is a bit of loss flashing by the bottom of his eyes. He quickly adds, "It's OK. Since it's inconvenient for you, I'll go alone."

Nina feels a little uneasy to hear him say that, and she can only smile and explain, "No, I'm just not very interested in the concert..."

She wants to politely decline him, but he is aware of her kindness and says with a smile, "Are you interested in dinner? After listening to the concert, I will happen to pass by your house. Can we have a dinner together?"

Again, the same reason... Nina nods helplessly, "Eh... Let's talk about it then!"

Nina decides to find another reason to get rid of it by the time. She is too embarrassed to refuse him twice in a row.

Friday off work is the most relaxing time. Nina hasn't cooked for a long time. Therefore, on the way home, she buys some food materials in the supermarket and prepares to make some delicacy for herself.

When Nina comes out of the elevator with several bags of food materials, she really has the illusion that the world is collapsing.

Leaning on her door, a man stretches his legs comfortably and casually. Who can this man be if he is not Lucien?

Doesn't he come back on Sunday? Why... Why he comes back today?

The elevator hasn't come up yet, and Nina has to run to the stairwell with her ingredients in a hurry.

The damned man captures her in the dark stairwell, "Nina! Why do you run? How can you hide when you see me?"

Nina is tired of him. She turns her head and shouts, "Who are you to block my door? It's really annoying of you to be so importunate!"

Lucien is also angry, "I worked overtime desperately, just to catch up the date with you. Is this your attitude towards me?"

His arm is like a pair of pliers, which makes her aching. By the dim light of the corridor, Nina can see the gathering anger in his eyes.

Nina regrets it. How could she forget that she can only be soft with this man, instead of uncompromising?

"Did I let you work overtime? Have I asked you to come back to see me?" Nina doesn't say what she wants to say and she only says slowly, "I just don't like being blocked. It makes me feel like I have no privacy and I'm being watched everywhere and every time."

Nina's tone is better, and then Luciens strength is looser, "Let's not talk about this temporarily. I want to know why don't you accept the cell phone?"

Nina replies officially, "This mobile phone is too expensive, and it will be very tired to use. I'm afraid of wetting it when I drink water, and I'm afraid of losing it when I take the subway. It's not for careless persons like me."

"Did you buy a new cell phone?" Lucien turns to other topics.

Nina nods, "Yes."

"Then why don't you tell me your new number?" Lucien's tone turns sour again.

Nina looks around. Besides the dark corridor, there's only a layer of steps. It is impossible to run away!
