Nephilim and the Nun novel Chapter 18

Quinn:

The chirping of the morning birds roused me from my peaceful sleep. Stretching my limbs on the bed, I climbed out and pulled on my sweatpants from the night before. I did my usual routine of cleaning up and then, my morning exercise. Thereafter, I moved to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee to start the new day with.

While I was brewing the coffee with the coffee maker, my ears picked up the even heartbeats of a human. They were so loud that they could easily pass for mine.

Whoever it was, was very close by. Taking the mug filled with coffee from the coffee maker, I added sugar and cream and took a sip, while still listening to the heartbeats as they got louder.

Someone was approaching the cabin.

With the intention of not wanting to get caught unawares by whoever it might be, I strode to the living room, peeping out the open windows but my eyes landed on no one. Yet, the sounds of the heartbeat got louder. Apart from the heartbeats, my ears also picked up the almost silent footsteps of the intruder.

Marching to the front door, I yanked it open just in time to see the nun, standing there, hands clasped in front of her, eyes staring into mine like a child caught stealing candy.

She was still dressed in my clothes from the previous day.

I stood by the doorpost, leaning against it, a smirk gracing my lips.

"Forgot something?". I asked, arching one of my brows.

"Yes". She replied, rolling her eyes. "I forget to take my life and your advice seriously".

Of course, she came back with her smart mouth.

"Too late then". I turned to walk away, meaning to slam the door against her but she reached out to grab my hand, stopping me.

"I… I'm sorry I'm…"

"Acting like a brat?". I completed for her, turning back to stare at her.

"I don't want to get killed by Elliott. Please let me stay here till I can find a way to sort myself out".

She started at me with pleading eyes.

That was my chance. She was the last piece to complete my perfect plan against the priest and Gonzalez.

"Fine".

The sober expression on her face gradually morphed to gratitude but I wasn't done.

"On one condition". I smirked.

Her eyes narrowed down at mine.

My gaze wandered down her body, stopping at her generous titts before continuing their journey down. I wanted more than one condition.

One will have to do for now. My subconscious advised.

"You'll tell me everything about you and why Elliott wants you dead". I started when my eyes finally returned to hers.

On hearing my words, her facial expression morphed into a scowl but it was gone as quickly as it had appeared.

"Fine. But that's all you're getting". She pointed a finger at me, glaring at me.

We'll see about that honey.

In response, I smirked, winking.

Stepping away from the doorpost, I let her in.

"Thank you". She muttered.

Afterward, she left for the bathroom while I returned to the kitchen to nurse my coffee that was now lukewarm, with a permanent smirk on my face.

My plan was going to work out without hitches.

Moments later, while I was still in the kitchen making breakfast, she walked in, cladded in just a towel. At the sight of her alluring body wrapped in just a tiny towel that was barely covering her ass cheeks, my cck twitched. I clenched my jaw, to hold back the groan that was threatening to spill out.

"Err...I need clothes".

Struggling to take my eyes off her, I led her to the room where I handed her shorts and another t-shirt.

"Thank you". She muttered, waiting for me to exit the room so she could change.

All I wanted was to haul her against me and seal my lips to hers. Pushing myself out of the room, I went back to making breakfast. Minutes later, she joined me in the kitchen. She was quiet, watching me cook. Even when I was backing her, I felt her eyes on me.

Most times, her gaze was on my naked torso. Knowing that she couldn't get her eyes off me brought a little tinge of pleasure to me.

When the meal was ready, we settled down at the Island and ate in silence. Afterward, she offered to do the dishes, and I let her, patiently waiting for her to be done.

I was itching to get fed with her story.

As though she knew I was impatient to find out, as soon as she was done, she sat at the island, on the stool opposite mine. All the while, my eyes never left hers, signaling her to begin.

"I'm not a real nun but I'm sure you figured that out already". She started.

"Baby, a nun doesn't have the body and smart mouth you possess". I interrupted her, smirking.

I saw a tinge of red stain on her cheeks at my comment about her body. She lowered her eyes from mine, licking her pale pink lips.

My eyes followed the action, wishing her lips were on mine.

When her eyes returned to mine, the shyness was gone.

"My mom was a nun in that same parish".

My brows furrowed, wondering where she was headed. Her next words sent waves of anger riveting into me, my jaw clenching to hold it in as a scowl marred my features.

"She was sexually abused by Elliott"
