“No, Sophia. Listen to me, I have something to tell you,” he said in a serious tone which was unlike him.

After hearing an acknowledgement from her, he continued, “My sis has some connections with the media and I called her today after John’s news was reported. I asked her to find out if any more news would be published by the media after this, and just now, she said that the media received new information. Do you want to take a look at it?”

Although she was surprised, she still chuckled and agreed, “Sure, what is it and what’s up with you? Is this information so shocking that you have to use such a tone?”

Sighing, he said, “I’m sending it to you now. You should take a look at it first.”

A few seconds after he hung up, she received his texts which were all pictures.

Opening the pictures, she was surprised at first glance, but she grinned after taking a closer look.

Then, she called him back and he picked it up without any delay. Apparently, he didn’t believe the pictures to be real and even said, “These aren’t real, are they? How could you be divorced with John? Look at the date! It’s obvious this happened a long while ago. I’ve told my sis to withhold this information. Don’t worry, we won’t let these fake news leak out to the public.”

“I would like to know where these pictures came from and who sent it to the media,” she said instead.

She caught him by surprise with these questions because he had never thought about it. “Hang on, I’ll ask around because I didn’t think of it.”

After hanging up, she wriggled out of bed and went straight to John’s room, but saw that he wasn’t there after she pushed open his door.

She then went downstairs and saw him in the yard. Standing at the entrance of the living room, she watched his back and thought about the divorce certificate in the pictures which belonged to him.
