Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 36

Because Antonio did not come back for the whole night, Clarissa wanted to give him a call, but then she thought he had been busy in the company these days. Someone in the morning also said that the Barons’ stock fell. A stockholder cast his son's medical money, wishing to earn more money for a surgery. However, he did not expect the money to disappear all of a sudden.

In desperation, he chose to go to the Baron's company and staged a thrilling jumping incident. Although the Barons' public relations did a good job and had no media revealing the thing, there were quite a few onlookers at the scene. With certain people deliberately spreading the story, the news soon went viral in the whole business community.

After hearing those part-time workers gossiping about these things, Clarissa immediately dismissed the idea of calling Antonio.

He just experienced a stock drop, so he would not be in a good mood for sure. She was not that stupid to choose the wrong time to call.

Therefore, she cheerfully had the part-time worker wash some grapes, and then snacked comfortably while watching TV and browsing her phone.

Out of blue, the villa's doorbell rang, Clarissa subconsciously frowned and said to the worker without even looking at her face,

"Hey, that whoever, open the door."

The part-time worker had seen all kinds of high-class people in their homes. Some removed the gentle and elegant disguises, bossing around these workers, but some also reamined polite when giving orders out of their noble temperaments.

Some despised people, while others respected people. She got used to it after a while.

She dropped the broom in her hand, nodded and trotted to the door.

Outside the door, Channing was in a new designer’s suit. His hair was tightly combed back in the head as if it were about to rise to the sky, and the hair gel solidified on the ends, looking very energetic.

"Come in!"

Part-time workers worked much more diligently as they got paid nearly as much as a babysitter.

Two men with dark sunglasses and black suits behind Channing carried him in.

"Hey. Channing is here."

Clarissa’s tone was like one of those "poor" girls standing under the streetlights in dark alleys.

She looked at Channing with a seeming smile. She was a little surprised but also a little disdainful of his presence at the same time.

But Channing snorted, casually removed his sunglasses and tossed them to the bodyguards behind him.

"What’s wrong? Can you find any new changes on me?"

Talking about new changes on him, Clarissa carefully took a look at him to find nothing new besides two more bodyguards, a nice hairstyle and a more formal outfit. After thinking for a while, Clarissa finally burst a few words out with an enlightened look,

"An extra wheelchair."

If people did not look closely, nobody would know that he was in a wheelchair, He was not tall from in the first place, so sitting in the wheelchair really made no difference from him standing on his legs. Even such a sharp-eyed person as her had to stare for a long time to find out that he was sitting in a wheelchair.

His leg was crippled, not broken!

Though Antonio ragingly had people break his legs that day, he was lucky to only lose one leg. He could still walk perfectly fine by himself.

“Bitch, I'm telling you, I've got plenty of money. Not even to say you giving those documents to the boss of the company, even the police can't do anything about me." He said.

People like him were really not fit to open their mouths. Even just for the same thing, Clarissa would rather take more efforts to revenge that person than to curse.

Unless, of course, those cursing words could really poke at their weaknesses.

The unskilled “bitch” kind of word used by Channing just gave people a vulgar impression of him. He could never become somebody influential.

She laughed,

"Oh?

Really?

If you have the money to solve the problem, what's the point of visiting me?"

Subconsciously, she thought that the reason Channing had not torn himself away from her and even brought two people to her house was that he wanted to downplay the importance of the document.

If there were no documents to threaten Channing, or if they could not threaten him at all, then what was keeping those papers for? For sale?

Thoughts went around fast in her mind. The only logical explanation was that

Channing had no other choices, so he had to make a risky move to dress decently and bring along two bodyguards, as if he already filled the embezzled public funds. In that way, he could confuse and convince himself that the documents were really useless.

Channing laughed it off. His primary concern was the event of that day, so he turned to the question.

"You didn't go to the junkyard the other day. Did you ask someone to mess with me?"

"Channing, you can't wrong me for this. I was all ready to go that day, but Antonio drove the car away and I lost my phone, so I could not reach you."

Not to mention Channing, even she herself could not believe her own excuse, but holding Channing’s incriminating evidence, she was sure that even if he knew she was lying, he would not poke it out on the spot.

Clarissa was too confident, feeling like she was in control of everything. Unfortunately, she made the wrong guess today. Channing did not give it a dick. He deliberately spat right in front of Clarissa.

She frowned and rushed the part-time workder to mop the floor and pulled the curtains as if there was some sort of viral infections.

With the help of his bodyguards, Channing stood like a normal person with fires of anger in his eyes burning flamingly still.

"Bitch, I'm telling you this. I'm hanging out with my brother now, I don't care about those damn documents of yours, I'll expose all those things of yours if you ever try to get anyone to mess with me again."

Channing was threatening Clarissa using the typical technique used by women. He did not have much of a big dream and did not want to make the issue big. Though he used all the money on girls and himself, he never thought about killing people. Otherwise, he would have just killed Clarissa with a knife since the first time she threatened him with his embezzlement.

Though he lost one leg, he still did not start any trouble with Clarissa, not even asking people to fix her once and for all.

This was because he was wishy-washy.

Not expecting Channing to really turn against her, Clarissa was stunned for a second, then her temper exploded all of a sudden.

"Channing, who do you think you are? You are just a dog by my side, doing whatever I say. If you have the gut, then go tell Adelaide and Antonio!"

"OK, you have guts, just wait!"

After saying that, Channing angrily left the villa with two bodyguards. Clarissa's good mood was spoiled too. Their partnership just ended here.

Adelaide woke up to find Antonio no longer at home, so she mockingly laughed at herself. Maybe he went to Clarissa last night.

Thinking of Clarissa gave her a headache, because even she herself was not sure if she really wanted to reveal Clarissa’s fake pregnancy.

After a while, Hanna came to visit Adelaide and discussed with her. They both thought that revealing the fact was not reliable. It would be best if they could make Clarissa reveal herself.

Rather than waiting for Clarissa herself to make a mistake negatively, they decided to create an opportunity for her.
