Chapter Six

She slowly gets up fixing her scarf, and fiddles with her fingers looking here and there.

"Actually...I came to check up on them and Ibrahim was about to wake up so..." Mushk stops midway not knowing what to say.

"It's okay. Please go and check on Mujtaba, he is waiting for you in the living room." Irtaza softly tells her looking down.

Mushk bobs her head hurriedly and rushes out of the room. Irtaza's lips twitch in amusement at her antics. Giving one last look at the boys ,he moves towards his closet.

At the table, Mushk was feeding Mujtaba when her aunt breaks the silence.

"Irtaza, Mushk here told me she will think about her marriage, I told her to do the marriage as soon as possible. It will be easy for her to take care of the children till Mustafa....um-uh gets back." Yasmin stammers at the end seeing Mujtaba present.

"So, what do you want me to do mom?" Irtaza asks in his deep voice making Mushk inwardly shudder.

He was an intimidating man, standing at 6 feet and 3 inches. All muscles due to his excessive work out in gym.

He was really scary, never spoke more than a sentence,if asked something he will answer them by nodding.

"I want you to talk to her in laws about it." His mother tells him who just shakes his head at her, see, this is

what Mushk was telling about.

"Father will do much better, ask him." Saying this he leaves the table wiping his mouth, as he heard the baby monitor beeping beside him.

After cleaning the table, Mushk gets up to leave.

"I'll leave now aunt, its getting dark and I have to check Mujtaba's homework too." Mushk tells to her aunt who nods her head at her.

Getting up, she goes to Irtaza's room as Murtaza was still there. Knocking the door she enters after hearing a grunt as a come in.

The scene in front of her surprises her a bit. Murtaza was in Irtaza's lap drinking milk from the feeder while playing with his big hands and curiously looks at him who softly smiles at the baby caressing his chubby red cheek.

In corner Ibrahim was quietly playing with his toys, Mushk never saw him jolly like other children. He was always alone staying away from other kids.

"Wait a minute, he is almost done." Irtaza tells to Mushk without turning his back towards her.

Mushk quietly stands there noticing his every act, how his rough and calloused worked so slowly and softly, completely opposite to his personality.

After burping him, Irtaza hands him to Mushk. He was calm and back to himself now.

Thanking him, who once again nods his head at her, she exits his room with Murtaza in her arms. His head resting on her shoulder, he keeps looking at Irtaza and smiles at him. A genuine smile appears on his face seeing the cute baby giving him a toothless smile.
