Sinful Mates 1-3 novel Chapter 76

  Imogen’s POV

I walked back around to the front of the house; the car pulling up beside me. Tobias gets out of the car with the baby nestled in his arms, still fast asleep. Theo then grabs some things from the boot.

“Why didn’t you go inside?” asked Tobias, walking over to me. He passes me my son and I hold him close to my chest.

“It feels strange being back here” I answer him truthfully. I feel him nod before kissing my cheek.

“We stopped on the way here, we couldn’t get much though with nothing being open. But Theo got some formula and nappies. It will have to do till morning and then we can go get a car seat and some other stuff for him,” he said pulling me into him. I breathed in his scent, finding comfort in him. Tobias was always so warm. Theo came around the car with some bags clutched in his hand.

“Come on, let’s go inside,” Theo said, pecking me on the lips as he walked past. I followed them inside. Walking in, I was hit with a sense of Déjà vu. I hadn’t been in here for months, but it still felt like home. The place was a mess, though. Everything covered in dust and smelt like it had had no windows opened for a while. Theo walked into the kitchen, I heard him flick the kettle on and placing the bags on the counter. I walked in behind him and he was reading the back of a formula tin like he was about to mix some complicated science experiment. It didn’t take him long before he placed a few scoops inside the bottle and added water to it before shaking it. I watched as he heated the bottle using a bowl and water from the kettle.

Tobias made us all coffee, and I sat on the stool watching them. Everything felt different, not in a bad way, just different. I never pictured them being father’s or myself a mother. Yet watching them now, I could see the excitement they were trying to hide. I looked down at our baby, his hypnotic green eyes now open and staring back at me, his lips making kissing lips as he sucked them together.

Tobias sat a steaming mug of coffee in front of me before grabbing a bag of nappies and opening it. He pulled one out, examining it and turning it around like he was trying to figure out how it worked. I sometimes forget they aren’t from this time period or that they haven’t had to deal with babies before. Holding my hand out for it and he gives it to me. I lay my son down on the bench still wrapped in my shirt, his little arms and legs stretching out as he yawns. Tobias watches as I put the nappy on him. When I am done, I almost laugh when I realised Theo to had stopped and was watching intently, forgetting what it was he was doing.

“Seems easy enough,” Tobias says with a nod. We all watch as he sucks his fingers making frustrated noises. Theo hands me the bottle and I pick him back up. He drinks down the formula hungrily and I can hear him gulping it down.

“What are we going to name him?” I ask, realising we can’t just keep calling him baby. They both seem to think. “I don’t know, what do you want to call him?” asked Tobias.

“I don’t know, what about Thaddeus” I suggested. They both seemed to think for a second before nodding.

“Yes, Thaddeus has a ring to it,” Theo said. Tobias nodding in agreement.

“Have either of you rang your mother to let her know?”  They both shook their heads and Tobias growled lowly. It was clear he still wasn’t happy with his mother and I running off, but looking down at Thaddeus it was all worth it, every miserable second of it.

“I will ring her Tomorrow, she is with dad and I don’t think it would be a good idea ringing right now. He isn’t in a good mindset at the moment,” Theo answered.

When he finished drinking down his bottle, Theo held his arms out and I gently placed him in them, Theo rubbed his back softly placing him over his shoulder and kissing the side of his tiny head. I felt Tobias move behind me wrapping his arms around my waist, his warmth making me yawn, I was exhausted mentally and physically.

“Why don’t we get some sleep, you may me be vampire but your still half witch,” Tobias said, kissing my neck. I leant back into him, his lips on my skin making me moan softly.
