Sweet Wife in Hidden Marriage novel Chapter 48

Lilian was startled. She choked on the last sip of water and started to cough violently. Her face turned rosy.

Sebastian walked over and patted on her back, asking, "What's the rush?"

Lilian glanced at him impatiently. When she caught up with her breath, she asked, "Why are you here?"

"I'm here to pick you up," Sebastian answered as if it was natural.

Seeing that she being so confused, he added, "I'll pick you up and we'll have dinner at home."

Lilian then realized that they were going back to the old house. Sebastian had never picked her up in the radio station before. She wondered what he was here for today.

"Are you sick? What did you take just now?" Sebastian squinted his eyes and looked at her.

"I... I'm fine. Let's go back home. I don't want Mom and Dad to wait for us," Lilian chuckled and somehow felt nervous. She wondered since when Sebastian cared about her so much?

"I'll ask the pharmacy if you don't tell me," he said as he walked to the salesperson, trying to ask him what Lilian had bought.

Lilian stopped him and said, "It's for dysmenorrhea. You would be ashamed to ask."

Sebastian raised his eyebrows. "You're my wife, why would I be ashamed?" He then stopped walking to the pharmacy because he thought this was her confession.

Lilian found those words sounded so weird when coming out of his mouth. She gave up talking to him, letting him drag her to his car.

On the side of the road, Archibald was sitting in the car. He saw Lilian was pushed into the car by Sebastian, and then the Maserati drove into the main road.

He lowered down the car window and supported his elbow there. His one hand was squeezed into a fist near his lips and the other hand's slender fingers were clapping on the steering wheel. His long and charming eyes suddenly focused. He started his car as soon as the Maserati disappeared from his sight. The domineering Spyker C8 galloped away with great momentum.

During the dinner, Eleanor acted out of her usual behavior. She didn't find fault about her. She treated Lilian coldly, maybe because she had finally lost hope in this good-for-nothing daughter-in-law.

After dinner, Lilian and Douglas watched TV in the living room.

Eleanor boiled Chinese medicine for Douglas, and Sebastian was in the study doing his own things.

"Lilian, I heard about the banquet last time. Joanna was such a shameless woman. Sebastian had already given her enough resources to make her popular. How dare she try to get into our family! That woman is too calculating. We would never accept her!" Douglas looked so disgusted when he mentioned that name.

"Lilian, I know it has been hard for you since you married Sevastian. Your mother-in-law sounds mean, but she is not an evil woman. Sebastian still needs time to find your good. You should be more patient with him. Marriage always starts hard at the beginning. You'll together be through ups and downs, and then you'll find he is the only one that was always there for you," Douglas said and looked very sentimental.

Lilian listened to him quietly. Douglas still didn't know what was between Sebastian and Joanna, or he would never be so calm. He would've been furious and taught Sebastian a lesson if he had known that.

Lilian didn't want to tell him about that. Now that she and Sebastian had made a deal to live separate lives in the future, they would never get into each other's life. She didn't feel any needs to tell Douglas about it.

"I see, thank you," she answered politely. Then she lowered her eyelids. She had given enough patience for Sebastian. No other woman would let her husband hug his mistress in front of her.
