Rowan’s face turned green. “Herbert, what do you mean by that? Are you a fence–sitter, switching sides so quickly?” 

“Mr. Cobb, Josiah called out. 

Rowan turned around, speaking in a respectful tone. “Mr. Guerra, did you need me for something?” 

“Not really. It’s your turn to speak next, isn’t it?” 

“Correct.” 

“Do you mind if I grab something to eat?” 

“Huh?” 

“I’ll take care of the leftovers from Lysander. You can proceed with your speech without interruption.” 

Rowan was stunned. 

With only one pair of cutlery available, Josiah quickly cleared away the remaining dishes using the ones Lysander had used just moments before. 

“Mr. Cobb, why haven’t you start yet?” Josiah asked, “There are dozens of people here. If one person delays for ten minutes, then for dozens of people, it’s hours wasted. Everyone’s time is precious.” 

Rowan was utterly bewildered. 

He watched as Josiah ate the leftovers that Lysander had left behind. 

“Mr. Guerra, you’re indeed quite considerate.” Rowan’s smile seemed forced. “She’s just a family friend, not a real sibling. You should still be mindful of hygiene.” 

“What did you say?” Josiah asked. 

“I said personal hygiene should be observed. We use serving spoons outside…” 

“My hearing isn’t the best. What did you say?” 

Rowan began shouting, “Mr. Guerra, I said these cutlery were used by Ms. Thorne…” 

“Who used them?” 

“Ms. Thorne!” 

“Who?” 

“Ms. Thorne”

There was only Lysander between them, and Josiah was too young to be hard of hearing. 

It was obviously intentional 

Herbert intervened with a smile, “Mr. Guerra, Mr. Cobb misspoke. He meant Ms. Thorne.” 

Herbert’s voice wasn’t loud, but Josiah nodded. “Oh, Ms. Thorne.” 

“Yes,” 

Rowan was still looking bewildered. “Isn’t it the same person? What’s the problem?”

Herbert reminded him, “Ms. Thomne now holds the highest authority in the company Remember to address her by her title in the future. Despite her young age, her position commands respect.” 

Josiah chuckled in satisfaction. “Mr. Castillo is indeed a pillar of the company. No wonder Mr. Thorne, always said, you have outstanding abilities and a promising future.” 

Herbert smiled. “Mr. Guerra, you flatter me.” 

“Okay, let’s proceed. Mr. Cobb, please continue with your speech.” 

After a small episode, Josiah continued eating the leftovers, while Lysander continued to note down the key points of the speeches. Most of the people in the company, including Herbert, understood the current situation and remained silent. 

Only Rowan, still relying on his seniority, continued to belittle Lysander, thinking she was unworthy. 

However, this time, Josiah remained silent. He simply smirked when Rowan mentioned Lysander was “disrespectful to her elders” and “women are long hair creatures with short sight.” 

His voice was neither loud nor soft, just enough for everyone in the meeting room to hear 

Finally, when the meeting ended, Josiah was about to approach Lysander, but Rowan intercepted him. 

Josiah stopped, his expression indifferent. He coldly said, “Mr. Cobb, it seems you have something to say?” 

Rowan hurriedly nodded, abandoning his previous authoritative demeanor in front of Lysander. 

Josiah glanced at his watch. “I have other arrangements. I can spare twenty minutes at most.” 

“That’s enough. It’s already a great honor that you’re willing to spare some time for me,” Rowan said, ingratiatingly, 

Josiah’s expression remained unchanged, merely indicating that Rowan should speak quickly. 

Rowan began to lament, “Mr. Guerra, we didn’t mean to disturb you, but as you saw today, this new Ms. Thorne is indeed the apple of Mr. Thorne’s eye. However, she’s just a little girl. She’s too young, and yet she’s so audacious. The competitive tendering hasn’t even begun, and she’s already talking about winning 

He continued, “Logically, this is an arrangement made by Mr. Thorne, and we shouldn’t question his decisions as employees of the company. But we really can’t help but feel sorry for him!”

Josiah cut him off, “As long as I’m here, Thorne Constructions and Energies won’t collapse.” 

With Lysander now the CEO of Thorne Constructions and Energies, Josiah’s words hinted that he might intend to take back control of the company. 

Rowan began to ponder the underlying meaning of Josiah’s statement. 

No one dared to directly question Josiah’s stance. 

Twenty minutes flew by quickly. 

Lysander finished packing her documents, carrying her laptop bag and folders, and walked out of the conference room without a glance at anyone. 

The two sides met in the corridor.
