The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1418

“A man in a suit?” Rachel was surprised.

“Oh, I remember it now. I thought the man looked rather familiar. He was the young man who came the last time. I beat him with my cane to teach him a lesson. That’s the bastard! I bet he’s up to no good, sneaking around.”

Rachel felt something stirring within. Without changing out of her house slippers, she left home.

In the end, Ian could not find the courage to call Rachel.

He was bound to leave in disappointment tonight due to his cowardice.

As he turned away to depart in dejection, a sweet voice cut through him.

“M-Mr. Harris!”

Ian looked back and saw Rachel running toward him in her bunny-themed loungewear and a loose bun. The way she looked just took his breath away.

“G-Good evening, Ms. Mead.”

He stiffly shoved the flowers and gift to Rachel with a silly look.

“Happy birthday!”

With her heart racing, Rachel took the flowers but refused the gift. Recognizing the brand, she knew the gift was very expensive.

“Thank you for the flowers, Mr. Harris, but the gift is too much.”

Rachel said softly and understandingly, “I know you got me the things because I helped. I returned Ms. Thompson’s kindness. It was the least I could do. Besides, Ms. Thompson has done far more for me, while I don’t know what I can do for Ms. Thompson and Mr. Salvador.”

Swept by a wave of emotions, Rachel could not stop the tears from falling.

Unable to stop his feelings anymore, Ian tearfully held her in his arms. The empty feeling inside him was gone there and then.
