The Killer Queen (Noella Briony) novel Chapter 366

"Talk about shooting for the moon," Kitai muttered under his breath, "You're just a salesman. Do you even understand Azure?"

Kitai remained silent, his ego slightly bruised. Truth be told, he didn't know the first thing about Azure. But he knew plenty about Noella, and that had to count for something, right?

Myra rolled her eyes so hard. "Even if you spend a fortune, someone reeking of cheap cologne without an ounce of sophistication will never grasp the essence of Master Azure's art!"

Noella leaned in, a smirk playing on her lips, "Oh, you get it, do you?"

"Of course, I do!" Myra asserted, her voice dripping with enthusiasm. "Master Azure's works are like the universe's treasures, brimming with energy! Every time I see them, it's like my soul gets a much-needed cleanse! It's all about expressing freedom and the pursuit of ultimate beauty!"

"You grew up in the sticks, didn't you? It's no wonder you can't appreciate such profound art," she snorted, looking at Kitai with undisguised contempt.

Kitai's lips twitched in annoyance. He had been by his boss's side for years and had yet to find these deep meanings in the sketches that were often the result of hitting a creative wall.

Freedom of the soul, really?

As Myra rambled on about Azure's design philosophies, she didn't miss an opportunity to throw shade at Noella. "You wouldn't know art if it hit you in the face!"

Noella's reply was calm, yet devastating. "You've got some spinach in your teeth."

An awkward silence fell over the group, broken only by Myra's horrified scream as she dashed into the depths of the Azure store.

Watching her flee, Oriana and the others hurried after, fearing what their little tyrant might do next.

Kitai sighed, "Boss, looks like you've got yourself a die-hard fan. If she knew she was insulting you to your face, she'd probably cry even harder."

Noella's response was indifferent. She was here at Azure on behalf of the Schnabel family, having promised to design some clothes for them.

Elara had been pestering her for days, eager to wear one of Noella's creations to a science summit, hoping to impress her idol with her sister's handiwork.

"Clear out a workspace for me."

"Don't worry, boss. No one dares to touch your workspace!"

Kitai nearly jumped with excitement as Noella headed for the studio. The potential boost to Azure's sales figures next quarter had him grinning from ear to ear.

...

At the Pollack Mansion in Serene Haven’s Dragon Tower, Helen sat surrounded by piles of documents, pouring over them with her reading glasses perched on her nose.

Sexton couldn't help but tease her relentless dedication. "What's this? Studying for the top scholar award?"

"Shut it, will you? I'm busy here," Helen snapped, her focus unbroken.

Merrily carrying a cup, Sexton approached and saw that what Helen had been looking at was actually Garrick's research papers from the past few years!

"Why are you reading his papers? Can that guy write anything worthwhile?"

"I'm planning to report Garrick, so I have to prepare various things, who knows which side will require the materials I submit." Helen wanted Garrick to fall from power, absolutely and completely! With no chance of climbing back up!
