The Killer Queen (Noella Briony) novel Chapter 372

"Don't worry! I'll protect Noella with my life," Palmer declared with a solemnity that left no doubt about his sincerity.

Years ago, when Palmer had rescued Merrick, stranded on an island during an international awards ceremony, Merrick knew that this man, betrothed to his granddaughter in name, was far more reliable than his own father had ever been. Hearing Palmer's earnest vow, Merrick nodded in approval.

"Noella, if you ever run into trouble, just let us know. Your old man of a grandpa can still smooth things over for you, and you've got me and your grandma here too!"

"Got it, Grandpa," Noella replied, breaking free from her shock.

The most excited person, however, was Elara...

Holding her face, Elara felt as if she was floating. "Noella, I'm seeing double... Is it because I'm too happy? Ahhh, my sister is my idol; I must be the luckiest woman in the world!"

Ulrich commented dryly, "That's just your prescription getting stronger, you should get new glasses."

"You don't get it! You don't have an idol; you wouldn't understand! Hey, how come you're here alone? Didn't bring Malvina along?"

Ulrich rubbed his nose uncomfortably. "We had a fight, she blocked me. I tried to see her at Shadow Dragon Society, but got thrown out..."

Elara immediately put on a gossip-hungry expression. "What? That's not like you, Ulrich, to just let Malvina throw you out without a fight. Didn't you try harder?"

"It's my fault, she'll cool off," Ulrich admitted, but refused to elaborate on the issue.

Pressured by Elara, Ulrich finally looked up, trying to sound mature, "Kid stuff, stay out of adult business. If you're so curious, go find yourself someone."

With that, he made a hasty retreat, planning to win Malvina over with gifts he got from Sienna Horwich!

If only he hadn't been so overzealous, which upset Malvina...

Initially, Malvina was self-conscious about her not fully healed burn scars, fearing Ulrich would find them off-putting. But Ulrich, in his eagerness, had just started kissing her, leading to... misunderstandings.

Knowing he was at fault, Ulrich had become a regular at Shadow Dragon Society, hoping for a chance to speak with Malvina.

Realizing love could make you feel so humble, yet he was strangely okay with it.

Watching Ulrich's swift departure, Elara was full of questions. "Has Ulrich lost it? If I were Malvina, I'd block him too!"

Stirling Schnabel frowned at Yasbel. "You keep calling Noella 'boss'; are you also a member of Polaris Star?"

Yasbel shrugged with a flirtatious toss of her hair. "Come closer, and I'll tell you. Too many ears around, and I'm shy."

Considering Polaris Star members preferred to keep their pasts secret, Stirling leaned in.

Yasbel whispered, "What if I said I'm your secret dad, would you believe me?" Then, seizing the moment of Stirling's shock, she dashed away!

Stirling was left stunned. "Stop right there!"

"Ha, no way, that's what you get for stealing my roles!"

"When have I ever taken your roles? We're not even the same type!"
