The Peremptory Casey Davies novel Chapter 56

The crowd immediately quieted down, and the word “invoice” directly suppressed their ferocious appearance.

That day, Charles dispatched someone to send the watch to Casey Davies, and also gave him the invoice. After Casey got the invoice, he forgot to put it at home and carried it with him.

He didn't expect it to come in use today.

Diana glanced at the invoice which was at the table in front of Casey. She still didn’t believe that it was true, reached out and had a look at it.

The girl who knew the brand, Vacheron Constantin, also looked over and stared in amazement, saying, "This invoice is true."

All the people exclaimed, looking at Casey in disbelief. They all felt it was something they couldn't believe.

"Did he really buy this watch himself?"

"Isn’t Casey a man who relies on women? How could he have so much money?"

"Wow, a sixty thousand-dollar watch, I'm afraid I won't receive such an expensive gift in my life."

Even if they were still skeptical, the invoice was true. None of these people had any reason to suspect that the watch was stolen by Casey.

Hunter thought this matter would make Casey lose all standing and reputation, let Edith realize that Casey was a man on the sly.

He had never expected that Casey would come with the invoice. However, on one would think Casey were ill-mannered now, they would only regard him as a rich man.

Hunter was so angry that he clenched his fists and thought, "Casey is really odd, carrying an invoice everywhere. Does he always want to show off? He’s really a rube!"

Edith saw Casey take out the invoice to prove himself, signed with relief. She believed Casey wouldn’t steal anything, but only the assertive evidence could shut others up. Fortunately, Casey had the invoice with him.

Diana thought Casey’s watch was fake, did not expect it was a watch of Vacheron Constantin, which worth sixty thousand dollars. She was also surprised.

But according to her prejudice against Casey, she could not admit that Casey could afford such an expensive watch. She thought that only her Prince Charming had the ability to buy it.

"Well, you have an invoice, so what? You must gain the money by either hiding it or cheating Edith. It seems that you are not ashamed of that at all." Diana said dismissively.

People at the table nodded in agreement with Diana.

"That’s it. Casey is a waste. How can he afford such an expensive watch? He must have gotten the money from Edith."

"Edith is really pathetic, meets such a shameless man who even cheat her out of money to buy a watch."

"This kind of person is really abominable. As a kept man, he also tried his best to gain money from women. How brazen he is!"

……

Edith felt angry when heard these people's comments. She didn’t understand why those people didn’t believe that Casey bought this watch on his own.

She wanted to plead for Casey. But he turned his head and glanced at her, smiled and motioned her not to do so.

Casey was also helpless as those people didn’t believe him. But he knew it was difficult for people to admit a man who they regarded as a waster was very capable.

If he was still anxious about what they said, he could only have endless quarrels with these people in the past few years, and wouldn’t establish TY Group.

Hunter heard what people said also thought the money that Casey used to by that watch was likely from Edith.
