Werewolf Compilations novel Chapter 10

"With me." Tyler stands up. "Anna is my mate."

Just hearing him say those words makes my heart flutter, my mind race, my knees grow weak and makes me feel whole. It's the first time he's said Anna and mate in the same sentence.

I look down at the hardwood floor trying to hide my blush.

"Anna, is that true?" Frank asks.

I peek up to see everyone's eyes on me. "Yes, he's my... mate."

Frank sighs and walks up to me. "Anna... there's something I never told you, and that thing is why you can't just run away."

Frank has been keeping secrets from me; I'm not surprised. Everyone does.

"Well, what is it?" I ask slightly curious.

He takes a moment to look around the room after his eyes meet mine again.

"Are you sure you want me to tell you in front of everyone?" He asks unsure.

Before I could answer his question, Tyler already did.

"Jackson, Katy." Tyler points his finger at the door, Jackson nods, and Katy huffs as they exit the room. When the door shuts behind them, Frank pulls me to one of the chairs in front of Tyler's desk, and I sit. Franks relaxes in the other chair, and Tyler sits back in his office chair.

"Well?" I question inpatient. My fingers were tapping against the end of the chair arms and my feet against the floor.

"Anna... you remember the attack right." Frank sits up.

"Are you kidding?" I ask blankly.

"Well, before every attack your father would tell me that if anything happened, I would take care of you. But before the attack, a year ago your father told me more than that."

"You knew about something and didn't tell me?" I murmur.

I know I'm used to people keeping secrets from me but, it's about my family! How could he not tell me?

"Anna I'm sorry, but your father asked me not to tell you anything." He apologizes.

"Whatever, what did he tell you?" I ask, trying not to cry.

"He told me that for a while a group of rogues was threatening the pack, but your father never took them seriously. In the beginning, they were just a small group of rogues but by the time they grew and more joined their group. Your father started getting worried and met with the leader of the rogues, the one who started it all." Frank pauses before continuing. "The leader would always ask for one thing every time they would meet. But your father would never give it to him, so they threatened to attack, and your father still didn't make the deal. So they attacked."

I sat quietly while I tried to process the new information. How could my father not tell us about these threats, did he even tell mom? What did this leader want that was so important?

"What did this leader want?"Tyler asks seriously.

Thank you, Tyler, for always asking first.

Frank takes a moment before answering. "He wanted a mate."

"What does that have to do with her pack?" Tyler questions confused.

"What he wanted was something he couldn't have because her father knew that they were destined to be with someone else and he couldn't take that away from her," Frank explains. "The only thing he wanted from the pack was... Anna. But of course your father never made the deal, the leader wanted you, Anna." Frank turns to face me. "Your father knew the pack wouldn't survive the attack, but he told me that if I made it, I would fake your death and hide you from them forever. But when you ran away someone called the Alpha of moonstone saying that they know you're alive."

Tyler lets out a deep growl.

"Anna they're looking for you." Frank finishes.

Out of everyone why did he want me? There are prettier girls, what's so special about me?
