"Everly, do you know Mr. Maverick?"

Maverick and Jayden both walked out of the elevator. Seemingly puzzled, Neil stopped Everly and looked at her significantly.

Everly disliked what he had done.

She forced a smile, "I was trying to get the investment of Lamont Group after I returned home, so I knew him."

Neil looked more surprised. "Really? So you knew that our branch would be taken over by Lamont Group?"

"It has been taken over, hasn't it?"

"Well, I thought you didn't know."

Everly frowned. She didn't know what to say, so she stayed quiet. Maverick had asked her to follow him. She didn't want to waste any more time on Neil, lest Maverick is provoked. So she just nodded slightly at Neil and walked out of the elevator.
