Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 190

S21 20. Kara’s Anger

Susan smiled broadly. She knew Melanie felt depressed.

“I’m not proud, but grateful. I appreciate whatever I have now and I am grateful to those who make sure I always have enough.”

Melanie laughed bitterly. “Let’s see how long you can be grateful. Would you still be grateful when you couldn’t feel luxury anymore? Let’s just wait.”

Susan nodded. A moment later, her hand stretched towards the door.

“Thank you for visiting my simple room. If you have nothing else to do, may I rest?”

The look in Melanie’s eyes was getting scarier. With a throbbing jaw,

she walked out of Susan’s room.

‘I should be intimidating that poor woman, but why was I the one who’s annoyed?’

Behind her furrowed brows, Melanie’s brain was working fast. After a few moments, her sly smile appeared. “That poor woman deserve lesson.” Carrying scissors, she went to the greenhouse.

In the afternoon, when Susan came to her garden, her eyes widen at her bare plants. All the flowers and leaves had withered on the ground. Small pots are also out of place.

“Gosh! Who would have the heart to do all this?” A servant standing

next to Susan sighed.

The poor woman could only shake her head and swallow. Even

though her eyes were filled with tears, she still kept her suspicions a

secret.

“Do you want to help me clean up this mess?” she asked flatly.

The servant glanced at her pitifully. She knew how much Susan loved her garden.

“Wait a moment, Mrs. Martin. I’ll call for more help.”

After nodding, she ran outside, called another servant and also

contacted Kara.

“Report, Ma’am. Someone ruined the garden in the greenhouse. Previously, we heard your mother arguing with her in-law.”

Kara stopped looking at the document in her hand. “How is my

mother?”

“Your mother tried to be strong, but it seemed like she was holding back tears. All her favorite plants were destroyed, Ma’am.”

Kara sighed faintly. Closing the document, she rose from her chair. Keep this a secret from the security. I’m going home now.”

Kara entered the greenhouse while looking around. She tried to fin the remaining plant, but her efforts were in vain.

“Mother, what happened?”

Seeing the presence of her daughter, Susan stood up. “Kara? You’re home?”

“I heard that someone was destroying your garden. I immediately went home. Why did it happen, Mom?”

Susan gaped for a moment. Her eyes moved towards the servant who discovered the mess with her.

“It’s nothing, Kara. Maybe a rat snuck in here.”

“Please be honest, Mom. This couldn’t have been the work of a rat. Look at the cut marks.” Kara pointed to the leaves that had not been put in the sack. “Someone cut it.”

Susan smiled wryly. If she hadn’t been wearing gloves, she would have wiped Kara’s face. “Sorry for making you panic. You put off your work to check on the situation here, hmm?”

“Don’t change the subject, Mom. Who did this? Was it those two

people? They dared to look for trouble as soon as they came home from the hospital?”

Susan shook her head. Her expression was sad. “It’s not nice to accuse people, Kara.”

“So it’s true. They were the ones who destroyed your garden.” After a snort, Kara’s jaw began to throb. Annoyance had welled up in her

chest.

“Is it because they failed to poison me that they targeted you? They really went too far. This can’t be tolerated.”

Kara turned towards the exit. But before she could take a step, Susan grabbed her arm.

“Wait, Kara. Where are you going?”

“Give them a warning. They can’t just go around destroying things. that don’t belong to them.”

Susan shook her head faintly. “But I’m okay. These are all just plants.”

“Your favorite plant,” Kara said with an annoyed groan. Closing her mouth, she stood straight in front of Susan.

“Did you see that, Mom?” Her finger was pointed at a pot. “That’s a gift from me and Frank. And that one?”

Kara shifted her hand slightly. “It was a gift from Louis and Emily.

They spent five hours choosing it. Now, what’s left? Nothing.”

Susan took a deep breath. Her throat felt dry. “There is no evidence that they ruined my garden, Kara. You must not be careless. After all, they are your husband’s mother and sister.”

“I don’t care. Whoever they are, wrong is still wrong. They must be reprimanded.”

Suddenly, Kara grabbed Susan’s shoulders, leveling their eyes.

“Just calm down, Mom. Don’t think too much. Clean this garden and make a list of the plants you want.”

“You still want to meet them?” Susan held Kara’s wrist.

“Yes, it’s a must.”

Susan shook her head more quickly. “I don’t want to add to the problem. Just leave them alone, hmm? Poor Frank if you fight with

his mother.”

Instead of answering, Kara turned her head to the side. “Nora, please help my mother make the new plant list.”

The youngest servant approached them. “Alright, Ma’am.”

A second later, she took out her phone. “What should we order, M

Martin?”
