Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 198

S21 28. Show Off

“Yes, I personally asked for my position not to be printed. I really like this ID card. I want to keep wearing it, even if my position has been promoted.” Barbara shrugged as if it was nothing big.

Hailey snorted. “You’re not lying, right? You’re really the creative director at Savior Fashion?”

Barbara immediately frowned. “You don’t believe me?”

“Many things can be faked, nowadays, including identities and ID cards. We need more concrete evidence.”

“You want me to broadcast live from my office?”

Hailey raised an eyebrow. “Yes, do it. And show me the results of your design. Only after that, I and the others will stop doubting you.”

Barbara subconsciously swallowed hard. Her shoulders rose and fell faster.

“Okay. Just wait until Monday. I will show you my office and work results.”

Hailey smiled slyly. “Yeah, let’s see.”

However, a second later, her eyes fell on the sparkling necklace Barbara’s neck. “Darling, what is that new item of yours?”

Barbara gasped. Realizing that her orange diamond was exposed, she pretended to be confused.

“What?” Her head moved around as if looking for something strange. This ring? I’ve been wearing it for a long time. It’s a graduation gift from my dad.”

“No. It’s your new necklace. You haven’t told us about it.”

The

Vents column was immediately filled with guesses. Many

viewers guessed it would cost millions of dollars. Witnessing that, Barbara laughed awkwardly as if she was embarrassed.

“Oh, this is a small gift from my brother. We were apart all this time. He had never given me anything. So, for the first gift, he said he wanted to give me something special. I thought it was a joke but he really looked for this rare orange diamond for me.”

Barbara moved the camera closer to her necklace. Seeing the gleam of that perfect sculpture, everyone immediately expressed their envy. and admiration. Even Hailey couldn’t hide her feelings.

“Is that the real thing? Very beautiful. How much does it cost?”

“I don’t know,” Barbara returned the camera to its original distance.” Maybe, millions of dollars. It wouldn’t be ethical for me to ask my brother.”

After a few blinks, Hailey returned her suspicious expression. “But counterfeits now look so much like the real thing. It’s hard to confirm authenticity without touching it.”

Barbara immediately pouted. “Hailey, what’s wrong with you? Why do you keep suspecting me? I know you’re jealous of me, but you

shouldn’t accuse me of being fake.”

“I’m not making accusations. It’s just that I’m not someone who easily trusts. You have to provide more evidence.”

“Okay! You’ll see on Monday! I’ll show you my office,” Barbara said firmly.

“That’s too long to wait. How about now, you prove that you really live in Frank Harper’s mansion? Show that the house is as big as a football field.”

Barbara raised her chin. Without thinking, she accepted the challenge.

“Okay!”

Barbara left her room, taking the viewers to look around. Not for a second did she stop showing off. After walking around for a few minutes, the tour ended at the back veranda.

“How is it? Do you believe me? I do live in Frank Harper’s mansion.” She smiled triumphantly.

Hailey sneered. “Yes, you do live there, but in a row of maid’s rooms.”

Barbara’s expression darkened again. Just when she was about to argue, a voice greeted her. “Are you crazy? Why do you talk to yourself?”

Barbara gasped and turned her head. Finding Philip relaxing in his favorite chair, she quickly hid her phone behind her back.

“You… are you following me?” Barbara widened her eyes.

Philip walked over. “I’ve been here since earlier. How could I be following you?”

When the man stopped in front of her, Barbara subconsciously gripped her phone tighter.

“What are you hiding?” Philip’s eyes narrowed.

Barbara pursed her lips. “This is none of your business.”

“You’re live streaming? You’re showing people the contents of this mansion?”

Barbara hurriedly pressed the home button. “No.”

With one swift movement, Philip snatched Barbara’s phone. His

brows furrowed when he found the screen.

“See? There’s nothing there, right?” Barbara said.

With a firm expression, Philip raised the phone beside his head. “Are

you aware that the information you leaked earlier could be used by criminals?”

Barbara pouted. “I’m not leaking anything.”

“If you broadcast detailed situations about this mansion, people might find a way in. That could threaten our security.”

Barbara sighed. “Don’t exaggerate! This house has a high fence. Not to mention lots of security guards and CCTVs in every corner. Even if the outsiders knew the layout of this building, they wouldn’t be able to break in.”

Philip took a step forward. The look in his eyes intimidated Barbara. ” I’m the head of security here. I know the threats and risks better.

Barbara spontaneously held her breath. Her head leaned backward. After a few blinks, she stammered, “Well then, you should work more seriously. If your security is tight, no one will be able to break in.”

A second later, Barbara snatched her phone. With slightly red cheeks, she ran inside.

“That person is very strange. Even a live streaming is not allowed?” she grumbled.

While continuing to walk, Barbara checked her social media. Hailey still continued to the live broadcast alone.

“Did they hear Philip’s voice just now?”

Barbara recalled her memory. His speaking volume was quite large. Barbara cringed at the thought of the consequences.

“In the next live stream, I have to give my best. That way, they won’t mention Philip.”

Monday morning, Barbara entered the Savior building with a bright smile. Unlike usual, her outfit this time was formal. She wore a blazer

and her hair was neatly pinned up.
