“Whoa!” Avril gasped.

‘That’s a scary amount! It’s almost as high as my family’s monthly profit.”

She was shocked at the amount of money Bonnie had.

The sound of the card swipe signaled success. Avril stared at the card Bonnie had just used in disbelief, stammering, “B–Bonnie, where did you get so much money from?”

“I earned it, of course.”

“You earned it? What do you do for a living?”

“Well, um, it’s hard to explain. I’ll tell you when I get the chance.”

“Okay, I won’t pry, Still…” Avril looked at Ivor, waiting at the entrance. She frowned and added, Bonnie, as a friend, I can’t help but say this guy’s handsome. Still, you can’t always be the one paying. You may end up suffering in the future.”

Bonnie was about to say Ivor had always been spending money on her. Instead, she said, “I’m living at his place now. I eat, drink, and use all the utilities without paying.”

“Wait, you’re living with him? Are you two housemates or something? Bonnie, although that’s normal these days, you mustn’t let him deceive you. When he uses all your money and uses your feelings against you, you’ll be heartbroken and desperate.”

Avril was genuinely concerned about Bonnie’s living situation.

The latter feared Avril would jump to conclusions and explained, “His grandfather has known me for a long time. I moved into their house because of our relationship.”

“Jeez, you scared me half to death. I thought he was taking advantage of you.” Avril sighed in relief and patted her chest.

Bonnie chuckled at Avril’s analogy. The former wondered how Avril would react if she realized she had accused the CEO of Knight Group of taking advantage of Bonnie.

Suddenly, Bonnie stopped and abruptly turned around to look somewhere. Avril asked in puzzlement, “What’s wrong? What are you looking at?”

Bonnie squinted. “Someone was taking pictures just now.”

“Who would be taking pictures?” Avril was stunned before running toward the direction Bonnie was looking. After turning the corner and looking around, she did not see anyone there.

“No one’s here. Are you sure you weren’t seeing things? Besides, we’re not celebrities. Why would anyone want to take pictures of us?”

Meanwhile, Bonnie stroked her chin, lost in thought.

Although Avril might not be a public figure, Bonnie’s identity as Ms. Bonita was even more attention- grabbing than that of a celebrity. Very few people knew about her identity, and everyone who did was highly reliable at keeping it a secret.

Bonnie wondered who was taking her pictures and even thought Avril was the target. Nonetheless, the former could not discern the purpose behind it.
