Invincible Heir novel Chapter 83

“Mr. Owen, I didn’t realize you would be here, or I would greet you earlier,” said a familiar voice behind Baron.

Baron turned his head and saw Wayne. He was surprised that the Porter family was also invited.

Wayne walked over and sat beside Baron.

Baron glanced at him and said, “I think you better move away from me, or you will get yourself into trouble.”

“What?” Wayne was a little confused. But soon he felt something unusual. Many guests were looking at them, including Lucy, Henry, Phillip, and so on.

“Fine with me. They don’t scare me. I treated them like dirt.” Wayne said, with a slight laugh.

Obviously, Wayne did not catch Baron’s point, but Baron didn’t say another word anymore.

Looking at Baron, Phillip couldn’t sit quietly anymore. “Grandpa, I have to go and see the jerk.” He stood up and walked toward Baron.

“Hey, Wayne. Long time no see. Let’s have a drink.” Phillip lifted his glass.

But Wayne sat motionless in his chair and never looked up. For him, Baron was more important than the Perry family.

It was obvious that Phillip was very embarrassed. He raised his glass and drank it quickly.

“What are you doing here, Baron? Why did the Brown family invite an asshole?” said Phillip loudly. Then he sat down and looked at Baron with contempt.

Phillip said so loudly that lots of guests were looking over here.

“Is he from the Perry family?” someone said, pointing to Phillip.

“I think so. He came with Henry. The Perry family is just a small family. I cannot imagine how they have managed to join Kris’s birthday dinner,” said another man.

“I have heard the guy is a son-in-law of the Perry family. He is a former security guard. Henry’s granddaughter, a great beauty, had sex with him five years ago! That was so funny. I also heard both of them were kicked out of the Perry family! They deserve it!” someone said.

Everyone was intrigued by the words. They all knew how beautiful Tracy was. Five years ago, Tracy had sex with a security guard. The news spread all over the Cona and Tracy became the laughingstock of the city. Until now, they finally met the security guard!

“His name is Baron? How did he get in?” some guests muttered.

Of course, they didn’t know Baron’s invitation was stolen from Joker. He had planned to make the Brown family pay for what Hudson did to Lara. But he changed his mind now.

So many people gathered here, tonight was the best time to show his strength. He would make an example out of Phillip.

Phillip didn’t know anything about Baron’s intention. He continued, “You stupid jerk! You must sneak in. You’re not allowed to sit here.” His voice grew louder.

Wayne sat quietly without saying a word. He was looking forward to what would happen next.

“I do have an invitation. So, you think the Brown family did exactly the wrong thing?” Baron said slowly.

“Stop talking nonsense! That’s not what I meant,” Phillip said nervously.

“That is what you mean. The invitation was used by guests to attend the birthday dinner. If I remember correctly, the guests can’t enter the hall until the Brown family checked their invitation. But why I am here! So, you think the Brown family did not check clearly,” Baron said with a smile.

Many members of the Brown family looked at them. Phillip was frightened out of his wits. “It’s clotted nonsense. You are insane! I mean, you must sneak in the hall. This has nothing to do with the Brown family, okay?” he shouted.

“You said I sneaked in the hall. In other words, you mean the Brown family is incompetent. Otherwise, how could I get in here?” said Baron.

“Shut up!” Phillip roared, looking terrified.

Just then, several security guards came over to Baron. “Excuse me, sir. I have to check your invitation again,” the captain of the team said respectfully.

“Why? Even you are not confident about your abilities? You guys think I sneaked in here too?” Baron sneered.

Baron did have an invitation, but he wanted to give the Brown family trouble.

The security guards stood straight, looking very somber. The birthday dinner was full of honored guests. They couldn’t afford to offend them, even the smallest family here.

But the challenge was they had to keep the birthday dinner safe. If something went wrong, they would be fired.

“Please understand, sir! It’s my job! I’m sorry if I offended you,” the captain said.

The security guards really stood out in the banquet hall. Soon, Baron captured everyone’s attention. And their eyes fell upon him curiously.

Phillip was kind of at a loss. He was not sure whether Baron had an invitation. He decided to risk it. He bet Baron didn’t have it. “Baron, the truth is you don’t have an invitation at all, am I right?” said Phillip.

Baron smiled gently and threw the invitation on the table. “Take a good look! You better check it clearly! Is it fake?”

While Baron got the invitation out, Phillip’s face turned white.

The Brown family didn’t print names on their invitations. In other words, anyone could get into the banquet hall as long as they had an invitation.

After careful inspection, the captain handed it back. “It is truly the invitation of the Brown family, sir. I’m awfully sorry to have wasted your time.”
