Invincible Heir novel Chapter 84

“How is this possible? He doesn’t deserve to attend a luxurious feast like this. He is just an asshole!” Phillip roared.

His grandpa barely managed to get two invitations. He had always felt very lucky and privileged to have the chance to attend the birthday dinner. So, he couldn’t accept this result.

The captain looked at Phillip coldly. “Behave yourself, sir! I’ve checked it. You can’t accuse a guest without proof.”

Phillip wanted to argue back, but Henry stopped him. He said sternly, “Shut up!”

“Phillip made a gigantic mistake. I am so sorry.” Henry stood up and bowed deeply to the guests. He could not afford to offend anyone in the Brown family, including the security guards.

Phillip’s face was white with rage, because he knew everyone was mocking him.

Wayne didn’t say a single word until the conflict was done. He cleared his throat and said, “Fine. Just a misunderstanding. Mr. Owen is a friend of my family. There’s no way that he sneaked in.”

“I am afraid you have made a mistake, Wayne. Baron was nothing, but a good for nothing bum! And he has been kicked out of the Perry family. Without us, he wasn’t worth a damn. Oh, that reminds me, he must steal the invitation!” said Phillip through gritted teeth.

Baron took a sip of water and said nothing.

“Phillip, five years ago, Tracy had sex with a security guard. He is the security guard, right?” A young man laughed.

“You’re right! He is that jerk! He shamed Tracy and my family!” said Phillip angrily. He cast a sideways look at Baron and continued, “What was worse, after that night, he disappeared for five years! Guess where was he?”

Phillip’s words seemed to interest others greatly. “Go on, Phillip!” A young man urged.

“He has been in Pola for five years and just got back a month ago!” He said and laughed.

“Oh, I see. He became a soldier!” the young man said.

“No! No! Guess what? He became a swine farmer!” said Phillip loudly.

“What?! Oh, my god. Oh, that was so, so funny!” Everyone roared with laughter.

“Oh, my god. He is so lame. But that can’t be true, Phillip! He is the son-in-law of the Perry family.” Someone said and wiped tears of laughter from his face.

“No. No. You’ve got this wrong. He is no longer the son-in-law of the Perry family. They were kicked out by my grandpa! They actually have nothing to do with the Perry family, including Tracy, that bitch! They deserve it!” He said more loudly.

“You have no right to talk about my wife!” Baron said calmly and stared hard at Phillip.

Looking at the sharp, cruel eyes. Phillip began to tremble in fear. He had never felt so scared or overwhelmed. Because Baron’s piercing eyes make him look like a devil out of hell.

There was total silence in the hall. The shock was plain on everyone’s face.

Soon, Phillip was back to normal. He argued back, “Why I couldn't talk about Tracy? She humiliated the Perry family! Your dirty little secret is fairly well known. Correct me if I’m wrong.”

“That was very wrong indeed!” Baron said coldly.

“You know in your heart that this is the truth!” argued Phillip.

“You don’t think I know that? Huh? You wanted to steal the Samho company from Tracy, so you set Tracy up! You want to deny?” Baron made a clean breast of the fact.

Everyone was dreadfully shocked to hear that. They watched Baron with their mouths open in surprise.

Henry and Phillip were shocked too. How did Baron know about the truth? They didn’t speak of this to anyone.

They had established good relationships with some powerful families and companies. Because of this, the Perry group developed really fast these days.

They had to hide the truth forever, or they would have no place in Cona.

Phillip jumped to his feet and denied, “Nonsense! You stupid jerk! You’re dead to me!”

“You want to kill me? I’m afraid you don’t have the ability yet,” said Baron calmly.

“You fool! I give you my word you will be dead.” Phillip said and stepped close.

He grabbed a glass bottle and raised it high. Then he pounded the bottle down so hard, aiming at Baron’s head.

Right before it hit on his head! Baron put out a hand and seized Phillip’s wrist.

And then a cracking sound occurred.

“Ouch!” Phillip screamed. The howl of anguish echoed across the hall. His arm was broken. Blood poured from the wound.

Seeing that, everyone sat motionless in their chairs, stunned.

But Baron seemed as tranquil as usual. He pulled out a tissue and wiped his hands. Then he looked up to Phillip and said, “You know what? Almost no one was qualified to mess with me in the whole Nona, not to mention Cona! Do you think you are qualified?”

The pain made Phillip grit his teeth. He let out an involuntary gasp. But Baron’s words made his fear greater. He went very pale, and could not stop the trembling.

Others held their silence and could not bear to look at Baron anymore. They were reluctant to plunge into the bitter wrangle.

Wayne sat frozen with fear. He was shaking slightly and was very white in the face. He should have stayed away from Baron as he asked. But it was no use regretting now.

There was an outbreak of muttering at this.

“He is so powerful. He is by no means an ordinary guy.”

“There must be something wrong! He can’t be the son-in-law of the Perry family!”

“He is in big trouble! Today is Mr. Brown’s 70th birthday, but he made so much trouble here. The Brown family will not let him get away this time!”

Baron took no notice of the words, and took a sip of water without another word. Nobody talked again. Only silence filled the hall.

At that time, in came a young man, about thirty. The hall became active again.

“He is Shallot Brown! The best man in the Brown family!”

“He managed many of the Brown’s businesses. I’ve heard he is likely to be the heir of the Brown family!”

“This Baron may be in real trouble now. Shallot will not let him get away with it.”

By now Shallot had stepped up to Baron and looked down at him. “Today is my grandpa’s 70th birthday. Why are you making trouble here? You’d better explain it to me, or you are not leaving my house!”

Baron did not answer his question. He lifted his head slowly and asked, “Who is Hudson to you?”

Shallot frowned. He didn’t understand what Baron meant. “He is my bother. You’re his friend, right? But it didn't work! You disturbed my grandpa’s birthday dinner. You will have to pay for that.”

“If you were smart, you’d keep quiet about that, or I will disturb the birthday dinner again.” Baron smiled thinly.

“Are you threatening me? In the Brown Manor?” said Shallot sneeringly.

Baron shook his head.

Shallot smiled and said, “I dare you!”

Baron made no reply. He grinned at Shallot and stood up. Suddenly, he seized a fistful of Shallot’s hair and pushed his head down on the table with a thud. Shallot’s face was sticky with blood immediately. The wailing, screeching sound filled the hall.

It seemed things started to get really crazy. The eyes of the guests flashed in Baron’s direction. They were frozen in fear, their hearts beating fast.

“I’m not threatening you. I’m beating you! Do I make myself clear?” Baron smiled and sat back.
