"You're the only one who would speak up for him." Mallory glared at him.

Although Mallory said so, she finally smiled: "Alright, I won't drink."

Lexie's charming face instantly lit up, and bloomed into an extremely obedient smile. "Then, I won't drink either."

Glancing at two of them, Christian remained silent. 

The man opposite him was secretly pinched by his wife. He then laughed and said, "Christian, I heard your mother say that you're too busy to see anyone every time you return to te Brighton."

Christian said in a bland voice, "The Company has too many matters, which is why I didn't come to visit you two, sorry, Mr and Mrs. Perez."

Megan Perez immediately grinned: "It's okay...Your father will be happy by the fact that Polygon has developed better and better these past few years."

Lexie frowned, "Mom, what are you even talking about? Let's start the meal."

Megan nodded her head, "That's right, since everyone is here, let's have dinner first."

She smiled, turned her head and signalled to the waiter at the side, then kicked her husband under the table to let him speak. 

Being forced by his wife and daughter, he could only swallow his saliva and put on the airs of an elder as he said with a smile: "Christian, before Lexie was too naive and made you mad at her. I'm here to apologise. I've already taught her a lesson."

Looking at him coldly, Christian then smiled, "You're over thinking, Mr. Perez. As long as it the benefits of the Polygon is not harmed, I won't take it to heart."

Lexie lowered her eyes and felt a bit relieved. 

Then Megan intentionally feigned ignorance and asked: "So you're not mad at Lexie?"

Lexie instantly locked her gaze on Christian's face, who started to be nervous again. 

Christian's dark eyes swept the surroundings. His expression remained indifferent the whole time, and his thin lips curled up into an indifferent smile, "Why do you think I am mad at her, Mrs. Perez? I'm always too busy at my work. It's not a big deal."

His aura was too strong. Even if he was not speaking, one would not dare to approach him, let alone speak in such a roundabout way. 

Other than the few ladies, Carl Perez didn't understand the deep meaning behind his words at all. He even smiled gratefully. "Yeah, that's right. you've known each other since childhood, and this isn't the first time you've quarrelled. I know that you won't take it seriously."      

Hearing this, Megan's smile stiffened as she secretly gave Carl an angry glare. 

What an idiot! 

'It was not a big deal', meant that he didn't care about Lexie at all. He treated her just like a stranger. Even if she irritated him, he may just be angry at that moment and then forget about whole thing back then.     

Lexie naturally immediately understood what Christian meant. So she couldn't help but bite her lips, suppressing her upset emotions.
