Chapter 11 Just Because I Like You, You Are So Unrestrained in Hurting and Bullying Me

At this moment, tears could not stop flowing, wetting her clothes. Outside, it was completely silent. She did not know if Hamish had heard what she said, but one thing was certain-he had never cared if she died. He would not care about her.

Elisa stopped abruptly. She wiped away her tears in disorder and curled up on the floor with her back against the door. She bit the back of her hand to keep herself from crying out.

Her youth, her love, her marriage-it had all begun with Hamish, and now it was ending with him too.

Hamish, I've liked you for sixteen years. How many sixteen years are there in a lifetime? How could you take advantage of my feelings for you to bully me like this?

Elisa let out a painful whimper. She hadn't eaten breakfast, only drinking a glass of milk. Now she was hungry, and her stomach clenched uncomfortably.

Using the last of her strength, Elisa crawled and staggered into the bathroom. She opened the toilet and started retching violently, throwing up nothing but sour liquid that burned her throat.

Even after vomiting, her stomach kept contracting. Elisa knew she couldn't throw up anymore or she'd start bleeding. She desperately covered her mouth and moaned in pain.

Elisa went back to the bedroom and took out the two bottles of medication from the drawer. For the next three days, she'd have to rely on these to survive. There was no purified water in the room, so Elisa could only swallow the pills with tap water from the bathroom.

Her esophagus was thinner than normal people's. The dry pills got stuck in her throat, slowly dissolving into a bitter acidity. Elisa made a mess of herself, suppressing her urge to vomit while forcing herself to swallow four pills.

After getting the medicine down, Elisa couldn't help but heave once more. The pills she just swallowed seemed to have come back up to her throat. She forcibly covered her mouth. The bitter taste lingered ceaselessly in her mouth.

Elisa curled up in bed, hugging a quilt. She waited from day to night. The originally stuffy weather now felt like the dead of winter, freezing her to the point of delirium.

Elisa's pupils floated erratically. As the light grew darker, she started hiding under the covers like a turtle.

Outside, thunder rumbled and a lightning bolt cracked down, its bright flash illuminating the entire bedroom for an instant.

The room she had decorated to be so warm and cozy now looked terrifying. Light and shadows criss-crossed the glass windows. Another bolt of lightning struck amidst deafening thunder, seeming to tear apart the entire sky.

"Ah!" Elisa let out a shriek, hugging the quilt tightly. Her body was drenched in cold sweat.

In the pitch black stormy night, she couldn't see five fingers in front of her. When people fall into fear, their minds tend to run wild. She imagined a monster appearing on the ceiling to swallow her up, an arm reaching out from beside the bed to grab her. She didn't dare move, only hugging her shoulders tighter.

"Hamish."

"Hamish."

"Hamish!" She called out his name, her voice going from trembling to hoarse with despair, as if wanting to viciously claw this man out of her heart.
