Natalie adjusted her breath because she did not want him to hear anything wrong. After all, she had just hit an attacker in an underground parking lot and raced on the street.

"I'm in Maggie's apartment." Natalie moved the phone closer to Maggie and said, "I'm going to have dinner with her before going home."
