Anger and disappointment boil through me as I march across the garden to the gazebo, when I reach it I plop down onto the swing holding the blanket Phoenix gave me up to my chin as I lay on the cushions, the wind is strong enough that the bench swings a little without me having to push it. I can't believe him. I can't believe he would just walk off and allow innocents to be slaughtered like cattle. What the hell was wrong with him? I grit my teeth as I sit up, too agitated to stay laying down. Jumping to my feet I begin to pace back and forth in front of the bench that continues to swing and squeak as it does. I had to do something. What the hell was I doing? I couldn't turn my back on those people too. Huffing I turn to walk back into the house, but I pause in shock when I find Maria standing in front of me with a smirk on her blood covered face. " Hello little mutt. " • Leave me the hell alone. Screwing my eyes shut tightly, I press my hands against her chest and begin to chant. " Maria cries out in anger as she sprints towards my mate's back, in an attempt to catch him off guard. I push him to the side, holding my palms out and screaming loudly. A large burst of energy courses through the air, making the trees shake and Maria fly through the air. I fall to the ground, gasping for breath. all I hear is Kai cursing as the world around me turns black.
