Mysterious Mr.Richard novel Chapter 19

Bonny felt puzzled. "Brandon?"

But Brandon insisted, "No."

It's rare for Brandon to look solemn. He was wary and seemed hostile to the man, which was unusual for a kid at his age.

"Thank you. We can buy it ourselves."

Upon saying that, Brandon dragged her sister away. He lectured her, "Don't accept anything from strangers. I've told you many times but you never listen to me."

"But he is so handsome. He's definitely a good guy."

"He's not handsome at all."

"Yes, he is!"

......

Richard stood up. He watched children walking away. He looked colder in the rain. He handed the umbrella to his assistant behind him.

"Mr. Zellweger, the two children..."

"Follow them. Keep them safe."

"Yes, sir."

Seeing Ted caught up with the kids, Richard returned to the car. He rolled down the window and lit a cigarette.

The entrance to the apartment was nearby. It was still raining outside.

But it was just drizzling this time. Only his driver was with him in the car. His phone had been vibrating.

"Mr. Zellweger." the driver reminded him carefully, "Miss Wood have called you a few times."

Richard looked outside, lost in thought. Confusion was in his eyes.

He saw the two children in the pharmacy. The girl looked exactly like Pearl.

But the boy looked like him?

Richard waited Ted near the apartment . After a while, Bonny came into his view. Brandon followed her closely and they both entered the apartment.

Ted reported, "Mr. Zellweger, they are very smart. They told the cashier that they didn't have a father. They get pity from the cashier, saying they don't have a father and how hard to be a single mother. The little girl even cried when she said that."

Richard raised his eyebrow for 'single mother'.

He was not sure if the children were just making an excuse for medicine.

But he had to look into this and find out the children's father.

Richard had a look at the roof of the apartment. His eyes were composed. He instructed Ted, "Get the information of the kids. Send  the report to my office tomorrow morning."

Ted was surprised but he still nodded his head. "Yes, Mr. Zellweger."

After a moment of silence, Richard added, "By the way, I want a report about Pearl's whereabouts in June seven years ago. Better with enough details."

Thinking of the past, Richard's eyes were filled with pain.

Seven years ago, he experienced hell when Pearl broke up with him. Immediately after, she left Kityall City which tormented him again.

It was so painful whenever he recalled it.

The black car drove out of the residential area. However, Richard's eyes were fixed on the department in the rear view mirror until it  disappeared totally.

Pearl's return made him realize that those terrible years wouldn't just went away with time.

He needed an explanation and she should be responsible for it.

Just 10 kilometers away from the apartment was the famous wealthy district in Kityall City.

A loud crash. A valuable antique cup was thrown onto the floor in the living room. It was shattered into pieces. And the tea was everywhere. The servants were bewildered.

Adriana made many calls to Richard but no one answered. She stared at the video from Zellweger Mansion and her face darkened.

No, she could not just wait here. Pearl must not stay in Kityall City.

Adriana asked grimly, "Eve, I heard that Evelina is having her birthday party at the Sea cloud Hotel this weekend."

"Yes, miss." Eve, the maid, had served Adriana ever since she was a child. Therefore, Adriana trusted Eve.

"How about telling Evelina that her annoying sister had two children? She will definitely take this opportunity to humiliate Pearl in public. Moreover, the Yonng family's friends and relatives will also be there. I think Evelina would be very happy for it."

"Miss, you are meaning?"

"Go and get those things from my safe. I haven't seen Evelina for seven years, I should get her a big present."

Thinking of the items in the safe, Adriana's eyes turned cold. Back then, she kept everything in case that Pearl would come back someday.
