Mysterious Mr.Richard novel Chapter 43

A black car exited Yoreast Hills Garden and galloped on the spacious roads.

The rearview mirror reflected the face of an elegant and gentle woman.

Thinking of the reaction of Helena, Adriana couldn't help but lift her lips. A cold look flashed in her eyes. She didn't need to make a move to do many things. In fact, others would solve it for her. She knew that Richard could not forget Pearl, and she couldn't intervene at this time.

For so many years, Pearl had been a huge scar in Richard's heart. So Adriana was afraid to touch it. She had to be very cautious with every step she took, and finally she made it so far.   

The phone rang, and she came back to her senses.

"Hello?"

"DNA test?" Adriana frowned, inexplicably nervous. "Who did Richard ask to do this?"

"Blake." A female voice came from the other side.

Adriana's face darkened after hearing that.

Blake was Richard's personal assistant, and he had been with Richard for nearly seven years. Blake had stayed with him since Richard returned to Zellweger Group. Blake did a really good job, and he was Richard's right-hand man.  

"Adriana, what should we do? What if the kids are Mr. Zellweger's..."

"No way." Before she could finish, Adriana interrupted her in an anger, "You believed those rumors?"

She went silent. After a short pause, that person asked cautiously, "Adriana, I'm sorry, Probably I was overthinking. Since you're sure that it has nothing to do with Mr. Zellweger, should I just leave it?"

Adriana pursed her lips, and her face became pale.

After that incident, maybe Pearl did not even know who the father of her children was. But what if something happened? Just in case.

It was afternoon, and the filming was still ongoing at Jackson Hospital, in order to catch up with the progress.

Standing behind the spotlight, Pearl bent over to massage her sore legs.

"You tired, Dr. Yonng?" Lan,the script supervisor, suggested worriedly, "Take a sit."

"It's fine. I've been sitting the whole morning, and I have a backache. It'll be better to stand for a while." Pearl replied with a smile.

Since she joined the crew in the morning, the shooting had lasted for five hours. There was no sign of them stopping for a break. She watched as Evelina got into a fight with the 'patient' again and again, and some of Evelina's falls were frightening.

Filming is much harder than she thought. Evelina is dedicated, which made her admire.

"Cut. Evelina, this take was good. Take a break, and let's do it one more time."

Pearl had heard the same phrase the whole morning. The Director complimented Evelina, but he would ask for another take. In fact, he was not satisfied with it.

Pearl and Evelina grew up together. Others may have no feelings about it, but Pearl felt not good. So she went over and handed Evelina a bottle of water.   

Evelina just sat down to massage her legs. When she saw the water held in front of her, she supposed to take it. But, her face became dark when she saw Pearl. "What do you want to do？"

"No poison." Pearl opened the bottle and handed it to Evelina again. "Are you scared?" 

Evelina took the fruit tea from her assistant and glanced at her coldly, "Who knows if it's poisoned?Its said that doctor has countless ways to kill people secretly. I won't drink it. Keep it for yourself."

Pearl felt angry and funny. She crossed her arms and chuckled, "What would I gain from killing you? Evelina, do you have a  persecutory delusion?"   

 "If I die, you can inherit the Yonng family."

"Then you can rest assured. I have no interests in family businesses. The Yonng family is yours."

"I have no interests, either." Evelina took a sip of tea and gave Pearl a proud look. "But even if I don't want it, I won't let you have it."

Pearl didn't know what to say.

"Evelina, get ready for the shooting," The producer, Mr. Jones, asked for Evelina to prepare.

"I'm coming." Evelina had hardly any rest, yet, she had no choice but to put down her tea, and got up in a ahurry.

"Evelina, wait," Pearl called out worriedly.

Evelina glanced at Pearl with nno patience. "What?"

"Take care."

After filming all morning, it was the scene where she fought with one of the patients and was pushed to the ground. During the break, she saw that Evelina had bruises on her wrists.

While, Evelina did not appreciate it and frowned, "Stop pretending to be kind."

Then she walked over to Mr. Blake.

Her immature behavior was like a teenager trying to revolt against her parents. Pearl [yonng] is not angry, but feels helpless. She took the script and sat down in a corner to study the next scene.

On the other hand, Evelina looked at the crew members got back to work. Then she saw Pearl reading the script leisurely in a distance. She felt that Pearl was so hypocritical when she thought of Pearl's concern.

"Director"

"What's wrong?" The director looked up and asked behind the camera.

Evelina said solemnly, "I don't think my co-actor is very convincing. He's the doctor who tries to stop the fight, but he always distracts me. Could I ask for someone else to play the part?"  

Mr. Blake frowned, "How can I find another oner for you, even a professional one. They're just temporary actors."

"Don't we have a professional here?" Evelina smiled as she looked at Pearl, and she added, "Dr. Yonng is an attending doctor, so I'm sure that she has lots of experiences to manage with patients. I'm sure she always handle conflicts in the hospital, right?" 

Pearl was reading the script. She looked up and spotted Evelina's cunning smile. She suddenly clicked in her heart, which had a bad premonition.

"Why don't we let Dr. Yonng try?" Sure enough Evelina said.

It is not surprising that someone on the set to play a minor role in the drama.

However, everyone knew that Evelina did not like Pearl. There seemed to be some conflicts between them. Everyone knew that Evelina had a bad intention when she ut up the idea. All the staff gathered around to see what would happen.

Pearl put on a white coat. It was a normal and familiar coat, but she felt uneasy when she was in front of the camera. 

 Her role had only one line. When the heroine was fighting with the patient, she ran forward to stop them.

"Alright, three, two, one, action."

Then the co-actors began to walk in the hospital corridor. Suddenly, a 'patient' with bandages on his face rushed out from the ward and shouted, "You b*stards! You are unowrthy of being a doctor."

He shouted and ran to Evelina.

Evelina was holding the medical record. She looked up in amazement and reacted swiftly. She avoided the patient's fist when it was about to fall, and then the two began fighting in the corridor.

The other actors were around them. They were "colleagues" and tried to stop them. Then Pearl came out to pull Evelina and tried to separate them. She shouted her lines, "Dr. Scott, stop it. Call security!"     

Suddenly, a loud slap echoed in the crowd.

Everyone was shocked.

Pearl covered her burning cheek, and her head was buzzing.
