Chapter 244
“Ow!” He wailed from the pain as he struggled to get up, only succeeding somewhat after Jay yanked him up by the back of his neck.
“Apologize to Ms. Seymour” Jay ordered him.
With the ordeal he had gone through, Dorian’s face was already wet with tears and s not. He did not dare to go against Jay’s order. Even though he was unwilling, he did as he was told. “I’m so sorry. Ms. Seymour!”
Larissa could not hear any hint of sincerity in his voice.
“Ms. Seymour, if you’re angry, feel free to hit or shout at him if you wish.” Jay said.
Larissa did not understand why Jay would go this far. From their briet acquaintance at the Seymour family home, Jay had come across as an assertive person who would persist even when he was in the wrong.
“No need.” Larissa replied, refusing his offer. She believed that someone like Dorian, whom she considered trash, couldn’t be adequately punished through mere beatings or scoldings.
Circling around them, she went back to the bedroom. Jay watched her with confusion, “Ms. Seymour, what are you doing?”
Larissa did not reply to Jay’s question but instead turned to the security guards and instructed them, “Watch them. Don’t let them come inside.”
She shut the door before removing the micro camera from the TV stand, carefully depositing it into the jacket pocket.
She could not let Jay or Dorian see her doing this, or they would never let her take it away.
With the micro camera secured, Larissa went outside. Dorian was still kneeling on the ground while Jay was beating the s hit out of him, causing Dorian to shriek and howl as he said. Tm sorry, uncle! I was wrong! I swear I never do it again. Please, forgive me!”
Jay glanced at Larissa and yelled. “What’s the point of forgiving you? You didn’t hurt me. You hurt Ms. Seymour! Maybe you should just go to jail for some proper rehabilitation and learn how to be a better person!”
Larissa knew all too well that Jay was not being genuine. It was just a brick to make her soften her heart towards them
Pretending not to have seen or heard anything, Larissa tugged her assistant with her, and they left the suite together,
“Ms. Seymour! Jay called out anxiously as he attempted to chase after her, but the group of security guards stopped him.
Larissa handed the micro camera over to the police, who only got here half an hour later. The thing was running when she got it, and it
was still in recording mode.
She did not need to say more about the incident. The police would understand the moment they saw the footage. Therefore, even if Dorian led and denied his crimes, no one would believe him, Larissa was only able to go home after having yet another grueling ordeal at the
police station.
The living room lights were on, but no one was home.
The entrance hall was devoid of Kevan’s shoes, and his cotton slippers were in their original spot in the shoe cabinet.
He was still not back yet even though it was so late?
Well this was not anything new anyway.
Since they married, he frequently stayed out late and smelled of alcohol, but kiss marks and perfumes never showed up again.
If Kevan was not yet home, who turned on the lights?
“Kevan?” Larissa called from the entrance hall, but no one responded.
She felt for her phone in her bag and discovered that the ballery had depleted. Once her phone was charged up enough to turn back on
the screen immediately displayed several missed call notifications, and they all came from the same person.
