Chapter 251
“I saw Lana today. Larissa spoke very slowly, and her voice was hesitant.
Before speaking, she was unsure if she should tell him about what happened tonight. However, she also felt that if Lana was really going to jump ship. StreamWave should be informed in advance to be prepared. Otherwise, the two participation spots given to her small anchors would be for naught
Kevan misunderstood her though. “She tried locking lor trouble with you?” His eyes ginted dangerously, and his voice was sin sterly cold.
“No, no.” Larissa quickly waved her hands. “I saw her, but she didn’t see me.”
Kevan’s coldness vanished at once. “So?” In the end he was as calm as he was before.
Larissa licked he lips. “She was eating with someone from LuminoLive. That guy tried to recruit Zero before
She broke all at this point, and Kevan picked up where she left off. “So you think that he wants to recruit Lana too?”
Larissa nodded minutely.
Kevan recrossed his legs, his face remaining unchanged. “Lana is not so important to StreamWave that I would do anything to prevent her from jumping ship.”
“But she may lake her anchors with her.”
“Those two anchors heh,” Kevan smirked, his mockery clear to see. “They only got the ranking they did because of Lucas’ money. The total number of their true fans probably doesn’t even amount to a fraction of Zero’s.”
“But it’s precisely those two lousy anchors with a few fans who stole her rightful spol in the Battlegrounds of Champions exhibition match.
“Larissa could not help but stand up for Zero.
Kevan’s eyes narrowed as he turned to study her with an ambiguous smile on his lace.
“So you said so much for so long just because of this?
Having been found out, Larissa panicked. She locked down and mumbled, “Yesh.”
“Therefore, you want me to help Zero get a spot for the exhibition match? Kevan a ssed.
Larissa never thought of doing so. She knew that she did not have that much pull with him, so she did not dare to bother him with this
sort of thing.
“No.” Larissa released a bitter exhale from within. “I just wanted you to keep an eye on Lana’s recent movements. Il she really w
really wants to Jump ship, Streamwave could still take back the two spots and prevent any significant losses.”
“So, in the end, you’re doing this for Zero.” Kevan chuckled, but the mirth did not reach his eyes. His gaze remained on his ices, his expression apathetic. I got it and I’ll send somecre to keep an eye on Lana. As for the participation spot in the exhibillon malch, I’ll try getting an extra one from the game company. Anything else?”
His inexplicable dejection scared Larissa
“No. Thank you.” She discreetly shifted to the side and pushed herself up with the sofa’s armiesi. Til be heading to bed now.”
“Larissa” Kevan suddenly called her.
Larissa paused and turned back nervously. “Yeah?”
Kevan’s expression was not as bad as she thought. On the contrary, he c ocked a brow and leased, “I gave you such a big help, and you only have a ‘thank you for me?
Larissa reacted immediately. “I treat you to a meal when you’re free. You get to pick the lccalion
Kevan was dissatisfied with her suggestion. ‘Do I realy need a meal from you?” The scom in his voice was close to bursting out of the
apartment.
Larissa changed track pretty fast. Til buy something you like?”
“Do you think that I can’t buy it myself?”

Larissa had no words for that.
“Just say it, then.” She gave up trying to guess what he was thinking. “What do you want?”
Kevan suddenly got up from the sola, stuck his hands into his pockets, and walked slowly toward her. His tall stature gave her great pressure as she was pretty much left in his shadow, Larissa anxiously clenched her fists.
Kevan’s voice sounded from above her head. “You’ll give me anything I want?”
Larissa fixed her gaze on the button on Kevan’s chest as she spoke without presence, “It can’t be too much.-.”
She saw Kevan raise his right hand in her peripheral until he was holding her chin, forcing her to lock eyes with him. His dark eyes were
gleaming with something.
“How about.” He leaned down and kissed her.
It was as it something had exploded in her brain. Larissa froze, and all manner of coherent thought vanished, Her eyes widened in shock her pupils dilating even as she stared at the man before her in disbelief.
Kevan skillfully slipped past her teeth, and the kiss felt like it was going on forever. Kevan took things a step further when he saw that Larissa did not resist hugging her to him with his left hand.
His blood thrummed in his veins, and his breathing quickened.
When cool fingers touched her. Larissa snapped back to reality. She quickly grabbed his arm and tugged down hard. Having already been prepared for her to push him away at any time, Kevan let her go the moment she moved.
He stood two steps away from her, involuntarily licking his lips, which caused Larissa to blush, her heart pounding madly. He had clearly violated her, but she did not feel disgusted in any shape or form. In fact, she was a little tempted, a little addicted, so much so that she
wanted to continue.
She thought she had probably gone mad.
“D-Do not do this anymore.” She turned her back on him. She wanted to speak with assertion, but it came out weak due to her lack of
oxygen
“Larissa.” Kevan watched her flustered silhouette and smiled, but his voice was a little cold due to his deliberate tone control. “We’re married. Some things must be done. I believe I have already given you enough time to adapt.”
“Our marriage is fake, remember?” Larissa whirled around, gazing at him in horror. “We’re not really husband and wife. We don’t need to perform any marital duties”
“Fake marriage?” Kevan laughed coldly. “The procedure was real and the marriage certificate is real too. Why don’t you ask the City Hall our marriage is real or fake!”
Larissa was more panicked than ever. “But you said that we are only pretending to marry to deal with your family
“It’s true that we’re doing this to deal with my family. But since I’ve married you, I never had the intention to divorce.” Kevan slowly loomed over her even as his voice grew deeper and lower. “So, you will be my only wile. Hence, it’s natural for you to cooperate with me.” He
pulled her hand over.
