That voice was all too familiar to Lysander.

Before she arrived, she had actually wondered if Josiah would show up, considering the resort was under Guerra Group.

However, she reconsidered. Josiah was, after all, a man of high society. He likely had no

with the likes of Fred and the trash that was Harry. Just because a wedding was held at his resort didn’t mean Josiah, as the owner, would necessarily attend.

Moreover, she had previously heard from her colleagues in neurosurgery that Susan had not been discharged yet, and was still under inpatient observation.

The company was thrown into chaos by the meddling of Lysanne and her brother, and with Susan’s illness, Josiah likely didn’t have any time to attend such a minor wedding banquet.

However, the truth was, he didn’t just show up. He also came with Lysanne.

Priscilla didn’t know Josiah either. She asked, “Lysander, is this person a friend of yours?”

Before Lysander could speak, she suddenly saw Harry stride over energetically. He greeted Josiah with a nod and a bow, ingratiating himself. “Mr. Guerra! Thank you for gracing my wedding with your presence today. I apologize if the hospitality wasn’t up to par. I hope you can forgive any shortcomings.”

As he spoke, Harry introduced Priscilla to Josiah, gently pulling her forward. “Mr. Guerra, this is my wife, Priscilla.”

Josiah’s gaze remained fixated on Lysander throughout. Only after hearing his introduction did he politely nod at Priscilla, before shifting his attention back to Lysander.

That day, Lysander was essentially coerced into working, donning the bridesmaid’s dress.

The dress she wore was of a soft green satin that hugged her figure closely, a strapless design th revealed her delicate collarbone and rounded shoulders. The makeup artist had just finished pri her, applying a light makeup look and arranging her hair into an elegant updo.

Astonishment flickered like a brilliant flame in Josiah’s eyes.

Indeed, she was a doctor. She didn’t wear makeup at the hospital, and there was even less of a reason to do so at home. Josiah had hardly ever seen her fully made up.

He cleared his throat somewhat awkwardly. “Are you a relative of the bride?”

Lysander nodded slightly, a faint frown creasing her forehead. “Do you know Harry?”

“I don’t know him.”

“Then why are you attending the wedding?”

“Harry is a friend of mine,” said Lysanne, her pregnant belly prominent, as she took hold of Josiah’s

arm. “Dr. Thorne, I didn’t expect to see you here. What a pleasant surprise.”

Lysander gave Josiah a cool glance, a trace of mockery curving at the corner of her mouth. Despite his harsh words, he still made up with her and even attend the wedding with her.

Harry said, “Yes, Mrs. Guerra and I were university classmates. We became good friends during our time in Stounia. This time, we returned to our homeland almost simultaneously. I assume Mr. Guerra must have accompanied his wife.”

Upon hearing the words “Mrs. Guerra,” Josiah subconsciously furrowed his brows.

“Speaking of it, I share quite a connection with Mrs. Guerra. Back in high school, I had a classmate whose name sounded very similar as Mrs. Guerra’s. It was this coincidence that led us to become familiar with each other.””

Everyone present, aside from the newlyweds, understood what was going on.

Josiah’s gaze was a complicated puzzle, It was hard to tell whether he was astounded or filled with guilt. Lysander watched on with a cool detachment, clearly keeping her distance. Only Lysanne’s eyes were piercing, scrutinizing Lysander back and forth with a less-than-friendly stare. “Harry, is the bridesmaid at your wedding a friend of the bride?”
