Before he could finish his sentence, someone from the other side was calling him again. 

With a sincere and earnest tone, Aiden pleaded with her. “I’m counting on you,”

Lysander looked in the direction where Aiden had run off to and saw Lysanne dressed in a white t–shirt and blue jeans. She wore no makeup: her face was bare and natural, and her hair was tied up in a ponytail.

Camila chuckled as she spoke. “Laura, I must be getting old. I saw a girl standing at the door just thought it was your daughter, Lysander. They dress so similarly.”

Camila said with a chuckle, “Perhaps the affluent families of today prefer simplicity? Didn’t your daughter Lysander marry into a wealthy family? Look at that young lady over there. The man standing beside her clearly looks like he’s not short of money.” 

She was speaking about Aiden. 

Aiden had just mentioned the day was about Josiah’s and Lysander’s something.

As they were speaking, the hotel’s main door was pulled open from the outside. 

Josiah was leading the way. His brows were tightly furrowed, emanating an aura of defiance. 

“Josiah…” Lysanne let out a cry. 

As if he hadn’t heard anything, Josiah continued to walk straight ahead. 

Lysander quickly jogged after him, calling out, “Josiah…” 

Josiah paused, turning back to glance at her, his expression cold. “Stop following me.” 

Lysanne’s eyes were tinged with red, a picture of hurt painted across her face. However, she was a stark contrast to her usual domineering self, who would order Josiah around without a second thought. Almost pleadingly, she said, “But today is our engagement banquet…”
