Zachary responded, “I wasn’t sure before this, but now… Though I hadn’t been with the project for a long- time, the team was already formed and things were starting to take shape. Everything was on track, and we were about to release the first phase of the project. But at this crucial point, I was the only one who got laid off. I was clearly targeted.”
“So what? You want me to beg Josiah on your behalf, so he’ll allow you to go back?” asked Lysander.
Zachary said solemnly. “I need to go back. You can decide how you’re going to make that happen, either through coercion or temptation. All I care about is the outcome.”
Lysander was instantly infuriated. “Are you threatening me with my sister?”
“You can say that. After all… everyone thinks I’m a saint, but only you know I’m a scoundrel.”
Lysander sneered. “You really are quite self–aware.”
Zachary drawled, “I don’t care. Harry is ambitious but stupid. Even if he managed to get involved with that young lady from the Stone family, he’d eventually be kicked to the side. He was even foolish enough to lay a hand on you when Josiah was head over heels into you. He’s practically digging his own grave.
“Where is he? Don’t tell me you don’t know.”
Zachary glanced at her and said nonchalantly, “Who knows? He’s probably gone crazy. No idea where he
ran off to.”
“You really are heartless.”
“Not everyone can be Josiah, I have the ability and ambition to climb from the bottom. That requires ruthlessness. Zachary tapped on the table with his hand. “I had full control over that project, and it was of utmost importance to me. I’m giving you three days to help me return to the company and continue to lead this project.”
“It’s different this time. As you can see, Josiah doesn’t care about me anymore,” Lysander warned.
“Lysander, I trust you. You can do this. Like you said, your sister is currently an innocent young girl, unfamiliar with the ways of the world. Even if she doesn’t come to Skywatch, there are still countless traps waiting for her to fall into in this vast society.”
Lysander closed her eyes for a moment, thinking about it.
At this point, there’s no use berating him. Zachary is clearly a despicable scoundrel. But…
“Three days is too short. I’m not even sure if I can see him,” she revealed.
“That’s your problem. Like I said, the project can’t afford any delays. I don’t have time to dawdle with you.” Zachary spoke.
Lysander felt emotionally drained. I just can’t catch a break.
Her mind was a jumbled mess once she got home and lay in bed.
I was so firm with Josiah, burning the bridges with him, and now I have to go back to him and ask him for a favor?

Chapter 415 Only You Know.
Lysander rolled over, burying her fare in the soft pillow,
Her phone pinged.
It was a message from Adrian: Are you busy?
Lysander swiped open her phone and saw that Adrian had sent her several messages while she was out, which she hadn’t noticed.
Scrolling back, she saw several pictures of a puppy.
It’s White Coat.
She hadn’t been away from Stounia for long, but White Coat had grown quite a lot. It looked adorable and friendly, clinging to Adrian in almost every picture.
Beneath the photo was a message he had sent: It’s starting to know who’s its owner. I think it likes me. If you don’t come back soon, it might not recognize you anymore.
The message was sent half an hour ago.
After some thought, Lysander sent him a reply: Sorry, I didn’t see the message, I’ve been a bit busy these past few days. Thank you for taking care of White Coat. I’ll be sure to thank you properly when I see you next time.
Adrian: Is it because of Daphne’s grandmother? You don’t need to worry. I just got word from Daphne that her grandma was sent straight into the operating room as soon as she arrived. The surgeon operating on her is the best neurosurgeon in the world.
Lysander: Is that so? That’s great!
Adrian: Are you feeling any better now?
Adrian: Are you free right now?
Lysander: Is there something you need?
Seemingly afraid she might misunderstand, Adrian quickly sent another message: I just want to let you interact with White Coat and get to know each other so it will recognize you when you come back. You’re its owner, after all.
After a moment of contemplation, Lysander replied: Let’s do that another time. I’m pretty worn out. If White Coat thinks you’re its owner, that’s fine too. You’re a good man deserving of its affection.
Lysander: Of course. You’ve been so kind to it. It’s only natural for it to trust and rely on you.
Adrian: So, what you’re saying is, as long as I continue treating her well, she will trust and rely on me?

e was unsure how to respond. She feared he might persist if she dismissed it, but she was also afraid of hurting him if she was too harsh.

I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
