The Genius Delta novel Chapter 17

So typically, when someone thinks of the personality traits of us four ranked wolves, we each have our own vibe. Logan is the grump who’s easy to piss off. John is the polite level headed one. Charles is the rational, logical one. And I’m the laid-back one who will laugh off situations. That whole protective growling thing I did to Azriel was out of character.

Yet nothing is more out of my usual vibe than Jaci taking more control and ripping the clothes off Persephone. Even before I could shift, it always felt like I had Jaci riding shotgun in my head, and after I shifted, he remained as my shotgun. I know it’s not how most human/wolf spirits work, but it’s how we are. So for him to take more control caught me off-guard.

I get it. Jaci is as affected by the mate bond as I am. I just figured we had more self-control than that. Apparently, Persephone rubbing her hand over my dick as she offered to take them off was the straw that broke the camel’s back or the wolf’s patience. Not that I’m complaining. Shit, I’d be nuts to complain about a naked Persephone pressed against me.

I’m so lost in the bond, drowning in this intoxicating feeling, that I don’t care where we are. There is only one thought, okay, two thoughts in my head. First is being inside her, and the second is marking her, making her mine in every way possible. This was strange. Not the wanting her like this part. I’m sure that’s perfectly normal. But I’ve never only had one or two thoughts in my head. Even when I’m focused on an invention, I think of a dozen others.

However, kissing and touching Persephone somehow eradicates all thoughts that don’t evolve her moaning in pleasure with my name on her lips. It took every ounce of control I had to pull back from her lips. Her green eyes blinked at me, darkened with desire and the hint of something else, most likely her wolf. I could see the confusion in her eyes as I had to force myself to stop. Our first time is going to be against a tree behind the packhouse.

We need to get somewhere private. My bunker may be a mess, but there is a futon, and there will be no chance of interruptions. Licking my lips, I looked at her naked body flush with arousal and started to ask why the where mattered. All instincts said the only location that matters is my dick inside her. I shoved down my instincts, much to Jaci’s grumbling.

“Follow. Bunker. Privacy.” I was not being very loquacious, but I got my point across as I stepped further from her and shifted to Jaci.

‘You realize that Sara and I don’t care about the where. We’re wolves. We can and will fuck in the woods.’ Jaci remarked.

‘Don’t even fucking think about it. My first time and, more importantly, Persephone’s first time will NOT be in wolf form.’ I instructed, ensuring I still had a hand on the metaphoric wheel even if we were in his form.

Jaci rolled his eyes and shook out his thick brown fur to look back at where Persephone had been. Persephone was no longer standing or leaning naked against the tree. In her place stood a gray wolf. And the wolf, Sara, I reminded myself, didn’t waste time as she closed the distance and rubbed the length of her body against Jaci before nipping at his neck. Not enough that it would have triggered the mark, but it certainly had Jaci eager to mark as he growled.

I don’t think Jaci has EVER run this fast in our life. Not even in battle has he moved like this. I guess life-and-death situations don’t measure up the same as him being in a hurry to get laid. I tried to get him to slow down as we started to get into the security area of my bunker. I don’t have Persephone programmed, and the last thing I want is for my security to shoot at her.

I managed to get Jaci to stop rushing forward and used his body to block Sara from going further. Based on the look in Sara’s eyes and her posture, she was confused and a bit miffed at me for stopping her. And, of course, we aren’t from the same pack or marked, so I can’t simply explain myself. The only way I can do that is by shifting. I’d have to do that anyway since the computer won’t recognize commands from Jaci.

I quickly shifted and held a hand up for Sara to stay put. “Don’t come closer. My bunker has biorhythm security protocols. Only certain individuals can get within a set radius. I don’t have you in the system yet. It will take like two seconds.” I explained, going to an innocuous-looking tree on the other side of the invisible boundary of my bunker.

“Take your time!” Persephone shouted at me. “Enjoying the view!” She taunted, her laughter echoing around the clearing.

I shook my head, trying to contain my laughter as I scanned my hand to open the control panel. “Hold perfectly still for like five seconds,” I called back as I entered her into the system.

“Why?” Persephone questioned before yelping.

“What the… holy shit, did that scan me to record my biorhythm for the security protocols? What level of clearance am I getting? Do you use this at HQ? Is it used anywhere else in the pack? Have you considered using it around the territory to ensure that Logan has approved of any supernatural being that enters? Is it safe for me to come closer now?” She rapidly fired out questions.
