Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 157

Chapter 157 Sorry
All afternoon, Rowan was busy selecting the best items for the twins—clothes, snacks, toys. He had never been so happy about using his black card. As the night fell, the trunk of his car no longer had space.

"Sorry, Sir. Do you mind if I put several things in the front seat?" Peter asked with his hands full of shopping bags.

Rowan pursed his lips with his gaze fixed on the trunk. "I should have asked them to send it to Frank's address," he grumbled.

After a sigh, he pulled two big teddy bears from the trunk. "I’ll take these with me. Arrange as best you can."

"Okay, Sir."

Peter opened the middle door for Rowan to enter before going back to adjusting the trunk. In his heart, he wondered what made his master change and where Sean had gone.

In the car, Rowan fixed the bow tie on the teddy bear in the black suit and then the red ribbon on the head of the bear in the pink suit. His eyes sparkled brightly.

"These bears are perfect for Louis and Emily. I bet they will love them."

Chuckling, Rowan glanced at the guidebook beside him. "Please be patient, My Great-Grandchildren. We will be at peace soon. Let’s make your wishes come true. We can laugh and have fun together." He breathed a sigh of relief. The air around him had never been that light.

Suddenly, the repeated honks caught his attention. Rowan turned to look at the windshield. Apparently, a big truck was speeding down the street. It swerved many times, trying to avoid other vehicles, but to no avail.

"Sir ...!" Peter opened the car door with a panicked expression. "Come out now!"

Rowan's mouth was agape, his body shaking. His breath roared as his heart was suddenly stricken with fear. As quickly as possible, he moved towards the door.

However, before he could get out, the truck hit his car. In a split second, the world felt like it was shaking. His ears were ringing and his gaze turned dark. The past flashed through his mind—how he founded the company, how he raised Norman, how he lost his son, and how he fought with his grandson. As Louis and Emily passed through his mind, tears came to his eyes.

‘Good morning, Sir. Emily and I are very grateful that you gave us a scholarship. We are also happy we are invited to this cool event. Therefore, we want to give you a gift.’

‘We just bought colored pencils. So, we decided to give you our first drawing.’

Rowan's chest began to ache. He remembered very well that he had rejected the gift.

‘That's for the Kind Grandfather! Since he already treated us this lunch, we should also treat him with the ice cream.’

Thank you very much, Kind Grandfather. If we already have much money, we will definitely treat you.’

Rowan's lungs seemed to be entangled in thorns. He remembered very well that he had mocked the toddlers' good intentions.

‘Come here, Kind Grandfather. Sit here. We don't have many friends here. So, your presence means a lot to Louis.’

‘Emily is right. I'm glad someone cares about me. Thank you, Mister Harper. You're such a good person!’

Those smiles ... those sweet words .... He was afraid that he would never see and hear them again.

‘Birthday cake should be distributed to special people first. Since you are our great-grandfather, you get it too!’

‘You are the best great grandfather in the world. And you know what, Great Grandpa? Mrs. Bell gave us vouchers for free shopping at a toy shop. We can go there together later.’

Rowan's tears became heavier. His breathing became shaky. He had never felt such deep fear. He really didn't want to go.

“Louis … Emily ….”
