Lost in Mr. Preston's Temptation novel Chapter 51

Sharon realized that she had been played by Clara and wanted to catch up attack her.

Suddenly, Sharon caught a glimpse of a surveillance camera on the wall in the conference room next to her and got an idea. A sardonic grin lit up her face.

...

Clara didn’t have time to care about what Sharon was going to do. After a day of interviews at EMC, she was exhausted.

She remembered that she still needed to go to the hospital to get her blood drawn, so she started going down to the ground level while at the same time sending a message to Donny.

Donny quickly replied to her message, “Ethan had something come up and needs to go back to the Sweetriver area. I’ll bring him to the airport and be back in about an hour.”

Clara responded, “Don’t worry about it, I’ll go to the hospital myself.”

After responding to Donny’s message, Clara’s elevator arrived at the first floor. She walked out of the building through the revolving door and stood on the side of the road about to stop a taxi.

Clara saw that there weren’t many taxis on the road, so she opened her mobile phone and ordered a car.

In the roadside traffic, a black Bentley passed by Clara and after driving a few meters past her, slowed down and then reversed.

The window facing Clara lowered, revealing a sharp and distinct face.

The bridge of the man’s nose was adorned with a pair of silver-rimmed glasses that that made him look elegant.

He looked outside the window at Clara and emotions flickered across his face. “Why are you here?”

Then Steve looked behind Clara and saw the towering building behind her. Everyone in J city could recognize the EMC Group building.

Clara looked at the face in the car that she had seen for more than 20 years.

There was only hatred for him left in her heart.

“Steve, does this have anything to do with you?” Clara pushed away the hair blowing in her face. Her smile was bright. “Make sure to take supplements when you have time, lest you die suddenly before I have taken my revenge on you. That would be a pity.”

Clara had been spoiled since childhood by the people around her, so she had developed an assertive character.

Even ignoring her family background, just her beautiful face alone outshone the other ladies in her group. Competition from them was even more unthinkable.

Being well-behaved and docile in front of Ethan was just an act.

Steve just frowned as he looked at her. Clara was wearing a small suit, and the top button of her white shirt was unbuttoned to reveal her beautiful collarbone, and her shirt was tucked into a pair of trousers that encircled a slender waist.

It was just an ordinary women’s suit. However, when she wore it, she not only did not look strict, but looked even more dazzling and assertive.

Steve knew that the EMC Group was recruiting these days, and with one look at her outfit he knew why Clara was here.

Steve’s heart throbbed when he thought of that day at the hotel when her eyes had been red, “You have been spoiled since you were a child, and you have no working experience. Working at EMC, is a lot of pressure, and it’s not suitable for you.”

Steve was startled with what he had said.

Thanks to Clara, ARCTIC’s stocks lately had fallen, and his personal life was in a mess. However, now when he met her, his mood had inexplicably changed.

Clara was also stunned. She hadn’t expected him to say this.

She scrunched her beautiful eyebrows and said coldly, “My spoiled life didn’t mean that I don’t know anything. I also learned a lot when studying in D country, and it’s more than enough to enter EMC.”

After a pause, she looked at him again, “Ever since I had to overcome the loss of my family, everything else has been easy.”

Her cold and mocking gaze made Steve inexplicably feel suffocated.

Clara clearly didn’t want to talk to him anymore. It just so happened that her car arrived then, and she walked over, opened the back door, and went in.

Steve watched her car drive away. The discomfort in his heart increased and his face sank.
